There is no conversion. Seriously. Man, as a co-religionist go behind the British times and see what was there. I am requesting you to. For once.

Buddhism's appeal for low-caste Hindus

"Once sub-human, always sub-human" is the root belief animating the exquisitely cruel behaviour of upper-caste Hindus towards the lowest castes in India.

The dalits (meaning broken people) have endured contempt quietly for centuries, either because they were helpless or because they had internalised the humiliations heaped upon them, or both.

Escape routes were few.

Says the India-hating moron who is trying to make our way of life something different according to his sinhala-fanatic fantasies.

Dream on bozo.

Thanks for accepting that you're a Hindu pretending to be a Buddhist. Nice try though.

Thanks for being an India-hating moron trying to be holding Buddhism for ransom.

But I think I know my way of life better than you.

Not some sinhala-peddled crap by a forum whiner.

don't bluff, its varna not vara , varna mean color, the caste system of division based on color the fairer the higher the hierarchy

what choice ? Bhagavad Gita 18:47 prescribes a karma (occupation) based on birth (caste)

So does that mean SwayamVara is "my colour" ?

Varna is a person's choice of profession and way of life.

Colour in Sanskrit is "ragga" from which "ranga" come. In Tamil and in Hindi. In music "ragga" is colourful music.

"Vara" w.r.t colour means choices of colour.

If caste was based on colour then All Europeans would have been Brahmins

Gita 18:47 and 48 says, (advising Arjuna to do his job)
sreyan svadharmo vigunah, para-dharmat svanusthitat,
svabhava-niyatam karma, kurvan napnoti kilibisam,

Sahajam karma kaunteya, sadosam api na tyajet,
sarvarambha hi dosena, dhumenagnir ivavrtah,

This translates as,

Better to perform ones job imperfectly, than do some one else job perfectly,
Jobs suited to one's nature, never results in sinful action,

Oh son of kunti (Arjun),Work born of one's nature, however faulty must never be given up,
All ventures will have some fault, the way every fire will have smoke.

Not many Buddhists would be denigrating the so-called "ambedkarites" in such a hostile fashion and singing the praises of the Hindus so loudly, sorry.

You are a Hindu pretending to be a Buddhist, denigrating Buddhists and trying to claim Buddhism as an offshoot of Hinduism.

Try harder.

I suggest you whacking off or getting a girlfriend.

one's nature = a disposition acquired through birth , wheres the choice ?

Yeah, an article written by a Mallu Christian for a Christian newspaper is now the guidance for what Hinduism and Buddhism is all about.

The article is written well.

It speaks about the rich culture and heritage of Sanskrit.

But apparently a wannabe Lankan wants to teach us of our own cultures. No wonder good Lankans like Gibbs themselves ignore the troll, started trolling by another troll.

This is the starting quote of the article. Do you think, this is root belief animating the upper caste Hindus?

"Escape routes were few.

A dalit (also known as an untouchable) in the north of India may run to the south to escape his place in society - but his name instantly betrays his caste."

This is the next para. Do you really think, South Indians know all the surnames of the North Indians? Or if a Dalit from North India escapes to South India, instantly the South Indian will find out the North Indian is a bhangi?

LOL. What a Moron

Krsna itself means "Black" you fool. "akrsnam" means "not black".

krsna-varnam tvisakrsnam sangopangastra-parsadam means "chanting the name of Krisha, the devotee though not black like the lord, will become krishna himself "

"Asuddha Varnam" means "impure chants" or impure utterance , not impure colour :cheesy:

Any Indian who learns hindi knows "Varna-mala", that means Alphabets , not "colourful Mala" or "colourful necklace"

Krishna is telling Arjuna to follow his true nature, his training, his duty and his responsibility.

He is taking AWAY Arjuna's choice NOT to do his Duty under the fear that he will make a mistake and commit a Sin.

Arjuna was born a prince, trained as a warrior and had a duty to protect dharma using his skill. Arjuna's choice was made long ago, once he made that choice, he cold not run away from his duty by quoting his fears of committing a sin during war.
