Samsung mobile phone update to Android Pie operating system: display AT&T's fake 5G logo

5G will be a big technology development direction, although it is not yet ready to realize the prime time for its application. Real (real) 5G will not be widely used until the end of 2019, but some companies do not want their users to know this. AT&T is promoting their LTE-A technology through carrier aggregation, LAA, 4×4 MIMO and 256 QAM. This technology basically means faster speed and better coverage, but it won't be as fast or low latency as 5G. LTE-A and 5G are very different technologies.

Suspected fraud: AT&T placed the 5G E logo on some phones that received LTE signals

AT&T will use the 5G buzzword "5G E" to refer to their LTE-A technology (they are released later); operators like T-Mobile have released LTE-A technology with the Samsung Galaxy S7. AT&T just released it, but they are using 5G terminology to make it look new. Currently, most modern smartphones support it. Samsung's One UI (Android Pie OS Skin) software will display the 5G E icon in the status bar. Doggo on the SamCentral Discord server is running on the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and leaking the One UI beta, indicating that it has this logo instead of the LTE logo. SamC's KenC also saw this icon appear on his Galaxy Note 9, and its device leaked the One UI test version.

AT&T's display of this 5G E logo is not the most honest thing an operator can do. This misleads users into thinking that their phones have 5G technology that is not yet available on the device. Many unwitting customers will think that this is a big technology that will be launched in 2019 and they are confused about what they actually use.

Samsung will launch a true 5G smartphone in early 2019, and Samsung will launch the Galaxy S10 in 2019 (whether it is a true 5G or not). We can confirm this in the Galaxy Note 9 code. We will learn more about 5G and launch at MWC 2019 in February, and many companies will launch their own 5G mobile devices.

. . . . . . . . . .
Probably the DUMBEST thread out there on PDF.

This is a 5G registered trade mark logo.

Now, if I put 5G as a font on anything, did I violate the logo?

Those are what people generally called "Market Gimmick"

A telco company can call their network whatever they want, that is the naming procedure. This has been done long before and not only in the US. In Australia, Telstra call 4G LTE as 4G+ or 4GX. and have a logo on it with every phone INCLUDING HUAWEI. Should I start a thread about how Huawei comingle with Telstra to defraud Australian?

This is different than an equipment comes with 5G connectivity logo (registered one) and does not compatible with 5G usage.

.
Samsung and ATT call enhanced 4G-LTE(LTE-Advanced) as 5G E,this is fake 5G not real 5G!!
5G e is not patented by China nor anyone, why are you accusing them of fraud? Do know how 4g or 5g work at all?

can a 5G phone run on a 4G network ?
Basically yes. But you need to upgrade it with more hardware and software.

I knew the answer. Mr Adam Wang kept dodging the question

Samsung and AT&T are making false promotions.

Care to explain what does 5G E means?

I knew the answer. Mr Adam Wang kept dodging the question
So 4G LTE-A is 5G to muricains and australians!
Get it!

You are still using Huawei core patents of 4G and 5G whereever you are and whatever network structure you built!
Huawei holds 25% of 4G core patents and holds 26% of 5G core patents (so far).
You can never bypass Huawei's patents unless the Americans themselves do not recognize Huawei's intellectual property.
Like a table,US Qualcomm is the tabletop of the table, Ericsson is the screw of the table, and Huawei is the four legs of the table.
2)You can't deny that AT&T's current network is not a 5G network at all, but AT&T and Samsung don't mind using a fake so-called 5G-E in a mobile phone to describe an LTE-A network that still belongs to 4G.

He is trolling.

Like most other Chinese cheap trollers.

He probably wants to promote universal Huawei technology. Or selling made in China stuff. Nobody should fall into the trap.

Most telecom carriers don’t need to build a new 5g network. The only thing they need is to upgrade the existing by adding five technologies: millimeter waves, massive Mimo, full duplex, small cells and beam forming.most can be done in software.
