samsung galaxy s2 vs iphone 4

Even I use mobiles for texting and calling..hardly looked for a hi tech phone, always using lower end phone. (except BB for official purpose)

Now, I bought Galaxy Ace (pressure from peers/relatives as it became status symbol now even in my native village in kerala, even fish n' vegetable vendors are using smart phones), lost all my balance when i insert my sim coz of some bla bla applications.

Now just struggling using it..

I have decided to buy Nokia N8 mainly due to its 12 mega pixel camera, but i don't like its symbian 3 OS. (Although I have an option for HTC HD7 but obviously my preference is camera this time). Will be updating its OS soon to symbian anna or belle.

I am open to buying a cheaper version of iphone 4 when it comes out. I dont want to put in too much money in expensive phones. My Nokia 5800 XM is more than enough for all my needs.

Btw, How much would the cheaper version cost ?

Read the red part:

"Apple may want to push into the emerging market segment, where customers want to switch to low- to mid-end smartphones from high-end feature phones, which usually cost $150 to $200," said Yuanta Securities analyst Bonnie Chang.

"But I think for an 8-GB iPhone 4, the price is hard to go below $200
, so Apple will still need a completely new phone with low specifications for the emerging markets." An iPhone 4 without contract commitments now costs over $600

Just used the S2, its an amazing piece of technology.

Truly the best phone money can buy as of now.

If you dont have an Iphone..well.. you dont have an Iphone ...

The driod is a fine platform.. but once you have had iOS.. and the sheer size of the itunes store catalog.there isnt any going back.
I was once an Iphone critic... thought the overpriced things were showpieces..
But took the plunge on the Iphone 4.. and now dont want to have anything else.

I think your first statement is typical Apple fanboy BS.Secondly Android has hundreds of thousands of apps now. There is no doubt that Apple has better apps but developers are porting apps to android now.Besides, you get full freedom in Android as compared to iPhone. The only other platform worth the name was i think Meego which Nokia ditched .I think Android is fine platform its just hardware developers making phones with faulty lcd's (Sensation), Heat Issues (Xperia Arc), Lag (Xpera Arc) etc.

Perhaps.. perhaps not..
I owned a N900 prior to this.. loved the maemo.. i also own a galaxy tab..
but nothing flows as smoothly and flawlessly as the iOS.
Including the games, apps everything.

Android over IOS. Not sure about the Galaxy though. It's a bit too bulky for my liking.

Once you get used to big it's hard going back to small, especially smart phones. However, I'm sure there are several other androids out there that will suit your liking.

I agree completely.Smart phone with small screen is just not worth it IMHO.I think Smart Phones should come with 4 inch display as a minimum.

You're right. iOS is much more polished as a software because of such limited hardware range. However, the newer androids are running as good (if not better) as iOS. Google's next official android phone and OS update will be a complete game changer, and Steve Jobs isn't there anymore.

I'm currently using the HTC Desire. Does the job for me and it's the perfect size.

I think the new iphone will be outdated in 3 months by Samsung or HTC...Hopefully Google will make sure that bugs are ironed out in 4.0 and hopefully can modify it a bit to get rid of patent trolls (Apple in this case).

I'm not sure whether I completely agree with IOS being a much more polished OS as opposed to Android. Yes the earlier versions of Android were not as smooth as IOS but the current versions seem to be just as good in terms of speed and a user-friendly interface.

The thing that sets Android apart though is the flawless integration it offers with Gmail, Google+, YouTube and Facebook. Apple are still light years behind in this sector! And it's not because they're not up to it. It's because they're too stubborn!

Best deal right now, but not a phone, is the $99 HP TouchPad running WebOS. People are standing in line and going crazy for this deal.

.
BTW, Guess who's got the bigger market share?
