What's new

Salwa Derwent (recently accepted Islam) Reciting Hamd in Urdu

. . . .
She lives in Pakistan now? when & why and from what she reverted to islam???

.
What is the point of such threads?

What would you think of threads that show Muslims converting to some other faith?

Aren't there more important issues to focus on instead of 'taking pride in' and 'glorifying' the deeply personal spiritual choices of other individuals?

How would 170 million Pakistanis benefit (in terms of jobs, the economy, infrastructure, health, education, food security etc.) if the entire world converted to Islam?

Jazak'Allah brother these videos made me emotional. Trust me may be i did not liked that much when Najam Sheraz sang this naat. This girl is just amazing considering she was a british singer. She has learnt Urdu very fluently and she has a very impressive accent. Just amazing

Shame on us who are going far awy from our beautiful religion........ look at her.... and learn to follow your religion from her

This is probably the only post which i did not like of you.

Religion is for this world only it is to make your hereafter also. Look at the amount of respect she got from Muslims after changing her religion to Islam. Her conversion did not help us in economy, infrastructure or health education but it indeed helped us to re-think about our religion. It did help me at least to re-think about my hereafter. I mean you are not here forever one day you have to day and this girl reminded me of my death for a second and if possible i will keep that her iny m mind forever as an example.

This girl has indeed taught me a lesson today and reminded me of a verse of the Quran that i had forgotten since ages now which says "Oh Muslims if you do not follow your religion properly or do not preach your religion (which is your responsibility as a Muslim) then Allah will raise a nation among you who will take my name with much more proud than what you used to. They will be proud of their religions and will follow my commandments a lot better than you and those are the peoples who will be the best in mankind".

(Something like that i can't remember the exact verse read/heard it long time ago but can find it for you if you want)

I have probably not read a naat in my whole life and in fact sing songs almost everyday. This girl has indeed reminded me a lot of things and embarassed me badly today.

If it has effected you then it has done so in a personal spiritual capacity. These issues can then be further explored on a religious/spiritual forum, or in your own personal capacity.

Defence.pk is not a religious forum, and we do not want it to be used as a tool for propagating a particular faith.

Agno,

If members can discuss or start any thraed of their choice, and can go to any level, and above that, we claim it to be a more liberal or diversed forum then what harm in it go as per their choice? There may be some members who would like such stuff and would like to participate, so why not to let the thread die at its own pace.
Its an impressive move that you restrict members to the narrow end.

Are all of the problems or happenings connected to economy, jobs, education, infrasture, food, security etc? Or you are implying that only those mentioned things to be discussed only, as new rules of the forum

Thanks

I was not glorifying anything.

This is the General Images & Multimedia section and I just wanted to share these videos with Pakistan Defence Forum members.

Theres also a "Dancing in the streets of Pakistan" thread and I dont know how would 170 million Pakistanis benefit (in terms of jobs, the economy, infrastructure, health, education, food security etc.) if the entire Pakistan went dancing in the streets.

I think this woman in the video is actually more Pakistani than the women in the "Dancing in the streets of Pakistan" thread.

I am well aware of the fact it is not religious forum. This thread is not leading us to any religious debate. There has been several similar threads in the past i.e. Eid Milad-un-nabi, The birth of Ram, Baishakhi etc.

It is not preaching Islamic teachings. It is a just a reminder to Muslims which is partially allowed and not going against the rules of this forum (as far as i know). But the way you made your last post did disappoint me and was never hoping such remarks from you. I have been following your posts since past 2 years now and very well aware of your thinking but the way your wrote your last post... Its simply is not your class

How would 170 million Pakistanis benefit (in terms of jobs, the economy, infrastructure, health, education, food security etc.) if the entire world converted to Islam?

Feel free to close the thread if you wish to

This thread is not all about Religion.

This woman is wearing Pakistani clothes, reciting in the national language of Pakistan.

Respect Pakistani culture and traditions.

By the way, Islam is a major part of Pakistan. Let me remind you the reason for why there is a Pakistan today. If there was no Islam in the region of Pakistan, there would be no Pakistan today.

For one thing that would indicate that the Taliban and other religious extremists who would use violence and criminal acts to enforce their POV on others, have been beaten into submission or do not exist anymore.

That would then imply an end to violence and instability due to religious extremism, and therefore herald a potential return of investors and a pick up in the economy, which has been severely battered by the the violence perpetrated by religious extremists.

So one can in fact argue that Pakistan would benefit tremendously were 'all Pakistanis to start dancing in the streets'.
I think this woman in the video is actually more Pakistani than the women in the "Dancing in the streets of Pakistan" thread.
I do not think that is for you to determine, just as it is not your, or anyone elses, place to determine whether this woman is more 'Muslim' than the women in the 'dancing on the streets of Pakistan' thread.

The problem with dragging in faith is that then all faiths should be allowed to be represented, and you probably know very well that there are some pretty inflammatory videos out there of Muslims converting to some other faith.

We really do not want tit for tat threads on that issue here.

By the way, I have nothing against a thread showing videos of people reciting Naat's, but the thread and video title in this case place an emphasis on the fact that the woman converted TO Islam.
