...By the way, what is this surname Kayani come from in Pakistan? Cuz, Kayani is a very old Persian Tajik ruling dynasty in old days afghansitan(Ariana) which goes back deep into our history, i wanted to know the relation.

AFAIK the Kyani dynasty had an important seat in Multan in the Panjab, where both the general and the singer are from!

I have heard this before, absolutely beautiful song, lovely singer, very clear, and i am amazed that she is able to sing 80% in Kabuli Persian accent, her accnt is only a liitle bit differnrt from me.

Nearly every thread to do with entertainment you brag on about afghan this and afghan that.

The reality is Hadiqa kayani has no relation to Afghans unless you heard from her own mouth; that she has blood relations with afghans or Iranians then you have no right to conclude her as afghan related.

Anybody can put up their surname as kayani, it does not mean that he/she is related to Tajiks/Iranians.

I did not know she was Afghan. I thought she was Punjabi. Anyways, I guess both modern Persian spoken in Iran and Dari are real ofcourse. Different dialects. But Afghan Dari has accepted alot of Pushto words since they live close to Pushtoons. But I guess standard is Iranian Persian internationally.

If you want to know about your direct history /family etc then just go to any historical office in Pakistan. It may take years but eventually they will let you know your origins but they do charge fee.

However for some like us, we didn’t need to be involved in hefty cases such as these because our forefathers passed their belongings, origins from generation to generation and thus for hundreds of years we remain committed to our ancestors and their knowledge of the lands /people etc.

E.g. there is a town called DADU in Sindh province 400 years ago 1 of our family members went and settled there marrying in to local chief’s daughter. We still have connections to that town even though we are not sindhi.

Hi Haider, it is the same language with 2 different names, in Afghanistan, the language was called Farsi instead of Dari only a few decades ago in AFghansitan, but they changed it to Dari because of some political reasons and that is it, although common people still call it Farsi in Afghanistan. they are great singers indeed, but the above singers are non native speakers of Farsi langauge, that is the differnce.
