You know what, if not for the rabidity of the movement, I find National Socialism to be a very good system too. A far more tempered and inclusive movement would be the best for India, IMO. But before someone jumps on me accusing me to be Nazi supporter, let me reiterate that I am talking only about their nation-building efforts in particular.

A Muslim can marry a Jew or Christian but they have to be real "believers" which in itself is hard to ascertain considering if a Christian or Jew was really a believer they would never marry a Muslim as it is against their religion lol. Despite that the leniency in this regard allows many such marriages to occur however this monotheist concept is some revisionist thing that no scholar would agree with which is why you will hardly see such marriages occur. If they do occur it is because they are disregarding Islam not because it allows it.

I'd want a fusion of Libertarian Socialism, Nationalism & Islam being practiced in Pakistan - Maybe by the time I'm an 80 year old on my death bed it may come to pass !

There are ample Muslim-Christian marriages though only very little Muslim-Jew marriages !

The criteria for 'real believers' is 'monotheism' not whether you're a Christian or a Jew - The Nazarens, the Jews & the Sabeans are explicitly mentioned because they were Monotheists !

In regards to marriage the interpretation is literal, the verse states you can marry believing Christians and Jews meaning those who actually believe and are not just by name. Yeah then again Muslims cannot marry the same Nazaren and Sabeans.

Where did I say that the interpretation was metaphorical ? I'm simply saying that the underlying principle isn't the name one calls one's self by but 'belief' i.e monotheism !

(5:5)

Where did you get that translation? In this verse it is referring to scripture meaning it is referring to the Ahle Kitab. Here are 6 transliterations all of which either say scripture or book.

By your definition Muslims can even marry Sikhs because they are supposedly monotheistic but that is wrong because Sikhs are kaffir.
