Don't just go by One plan down.....go to overall result..........
nobody seen in this world that one airforce 1/4 of its opposition.......successeded in this war.....also not forgot the World Record of MM Aalam....who made world record by destorying Indian Fighters.

Calcutta??

There were 12 F-86's at dhaka.
One was lost on 4th sep to a bird strike..
the other was lost on the 6th in a CFIT..that was ATM Aziz.

This kill was of Flg Off Afzal by F/L A.T. Cooke.
The F-86 was low on fuel and taken out.
Surprisingly that both Hunters piloted by F/L A.T. Cooke and Flg Off SC Mamgain(both Anglo-Indian).. admitted they were scared to get into air combat with the Sabre's.

Any source other than Pakistani media would be helpful.

IAF sortie from Kalaikunda had gone to Chittagong expecting PAF frugal strength in East secured there away from IAF. However, PAF Sabres were at Dhaka. They took off just in time to catch the returning IAF aircraft taxiing in after landing at Kalaikunda. The result was a massacre of IAF East which never took to the sky again during the 1965 War.Top gun ace Saiful Azam was flying one of the PAF attacking aircraft.

Any other source for that eyewitness account other than Indian media would also be helpful.
Ive quoted two books.
One is A/C Sajjad haider's "flight of the falcon"
Te other is Jagan Mohan's "Indo-Pak air war of 1965".

What else do you need other than video? It's OK, I can understand.

Regarding books: won't be feasible for me to arrange and then go through. Anyways Thanks!!!

I've seen this video a long time ago, so from memory let me correct you about the authenticity of the video. This is an edited video which purpots to show the shooting down of the SAbre flown by Afzal. There are no actual clips of the exact incident in this video. The narration is by an alumnus of IIT, Kharagpur. I guess he made this clip for the narration of his eye-witness account.

OSCAR:
One small correction: Mamgain is a Brahmin caste and surname from North India, not Anglo Indian:-)

Brief write up about Alfred Cooke:
Indian Combat Pilots

This was an amazing incident in the air-war of '65 where Cooke single handedly fought off 4 Sabres! You will remember seeing the amazing gun camera photos from Jagan's book which clearly show him tangling with 4 seperate Sabres and not only surviving, but also being responsible for bring 2 Sabres down.

The 1st Sabre flown by Afzal, and the 2nd Sabre put out of action by Cooke was that of Flight Lieutenant Tariq Habib. This is acknowleged in a round about way by Pak sources too, I am attaching one such link below.:

Yes, he was known as 'Mamu' Mamgain in the IAF.

AUZ, while the abuse reflect badly on your upbringing, overall Pakistan failed in its objectives of winning kashmir by launching operation gibraltor, india succeeded in defending it, india also had more pakistani land under our control.

Stop repeating like a zombie you won the war, you did not.

in air to air combat, there wasnt a very significant difference. Though we did lose some aircraft on the ground.
But then again, we improved drastically in 1971 where we had complete sureriority over the east, and a good measure of dominance in the west, right upto the kargil conflict, where the PAF was actually too scared, and ill-equipped to enter the field in support of their forces. . . and those who brag about a victory in 1965, should check who had more territory before the ceasefire........

@malik usman
mm alam's claims are largely unsubstantiated .
The guy shot 2 hunters at most. The names released by the paf dont coincide with the pilots who were on that raid. They didnt even find the wreckage of more than two hunters. Even among these, one wasnt a confirmed hit and MIGHT have been due to other reasons.

Seriously guys...y u no remember patton nagar?
