Alrighty ... sometimes you have to see things via different lens to get the idea of what is going on in people's heads .. Let's do the same for this story ...

-As a fellow muslim

• We aren't supposed to talk ill about deceased people, that is what is taught in our usual muslim households.

-As a Pakistani

• Now this one's a little tricky. So on one end, you have the argument that this is a mirror of our society and needs to be aired so that more individuals in our society don't suffer. On the other hand, it's an embarrassment as well.
  
• Secondly, nobody knows how this drama will be executed. Will she be made in to the symbol of an"inspirational" "empowered woman" which she wasn't clearly, in fact she was among the most vulnerable of us all to the point where she put up a different identity in front of the camera so she could put food on the table for her family.

-As the business mind behind the idea of this serial

• Bloody brilliant move. She already had the name recognition, and she turned in to more of celeb after she passed away. Making a serial on her is easily going to generate buzz, ratings and will have support from various liberal and women empowerment groups. Anybody can easily defend this serial using the argument of "we're just showing you the mirror" so a ban on this serial is unlikely. Plus, many guys will tune in, hoping that Saba will renact her videos. So that's a win-win-win-win in terms of business sense.

First of all, let's not insult "molvis" i.e. socio-economically disenfranchised people whose parents sent them in to the nearby madrassa, so that they can cut costs by transferring the cost to the madrassa ( which usually operates with the funds of the people) and with that, get a kid whose a hafiz and has some courses under his belt, so he can become a local imam in a small masjid and hopefully lead a life in which he doesn't need to beg anyone. These are good people whose lives you don't get to experience, so please don't insult them by generalizing them just because of some bad apples on the top.

Secondly, as far as those people who PRETEND to be "puhancha hua pir baba" people usually go there for "sas-bahu" mamlat. I don't know if you believe in black magic and stuff, but the usual trend is that many of these can't even be classified as muslims because they practice magic (for which you literally have to do every un-islamic thing you can).

I wasn't generalising, just saying how people are so far from basic beliefs that they have to resort to other people of 'knowledge' for guidance even if it's misguiding and how easily a crowd can be in a trance

Quite easy to do. The drive for knowledge is rarely inspired by the intended pure purpose of being enlightened. It's usually to get arguments to use in a debate against your bahu, saas, bevi, beti, shohar etc. For the people who don't have ulterior motives, it's usually to confirm something. Hence, it's more easy to go to a molvi/ maulana instead of initiating a hard research process yourself. Plus, let's not forget, around 40% of our population is illiterate. So how do you expect these people to go on and research solutions to complex problems, when these people can't even read.
Hence, the problem is alot more complex than it seems to the naked eye.

I will start by saying that the pseudo-mullahs of this board give Defence.pk a bad name, I was no fan of hers, but murder is murder. Secondly, no one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to watch the drama.

Thirdly, the case is contining, but it has the massive complication that her brother's blood report came back positive for high levels of chars which makes the whole "honour killing" question problematic, not impossible, but difficult to win.
