built 1998??? 22 years ...... are you sure PAF made THIS choice?

The airframe is from 1998, everything else is brand new. You don't always need to build a plane from scratch and new doesn't always been better.

No. SAAB does not offer the ER standalone but as a part of the Globaleye suite.

@Bilal Khan (Quwa) There is a great deal of confusion here. Is it part of the 3 additional Erieye PAF bought back in 2018-2019? But as per exim orders and guesstimates, those 3 Erieyes were to be configured in Kamra. Or is it tht those 3 Erieyes are not being configured in kamra but instead in sweden and being delivered from there?

Or is it the additional order of 1 to replace the destroyed Erieye?

Or is the additional order beside 3 already purchased and total will reach 7 now ?

According to Usman Shabbir, plane spotters saw 11 Saab 2000s registered with the PAF, and by his estimation the PAF will ultimately have 9 Erieye AEW&C. Anyways, here's the news I promised by end of year everyone...
