are the missiles fired or is it a test flight to verify stress and load on the uav airframe?

No, but think about it's role in Naval surveillance, and thwarting illicit naval activities in our territorial water. And equate the cost advantage of 2 guys, sitting in a AC room, operating a low cost armed drone with 12 hour endurance, can carry on surveillance on a stretch of 240-300 km.
Totally true.

It's always better to have options, isn't? Be in the vast stretch of oceans, or terrorists hiding in bunkers in forests.
Yes, but its our policy to never use air-power over our own civilians. Even since 60s, we never used Indian Army over civies (except op Blue Star) :P.

Nope, taxi run. But it will be fired soon.

2013 Article

The HELINA is an advanced version of the Nag missile. Nag missile is a third generation fire-and-forget anti-tank missile with top attack capability. Nag missile has a range of 4 kilometers and equipped with imaging infra red seeker, lock-on-before launch capability with the seeker tracking the target before the launch.

The HELINA version of the Nag missile will be airborne and will have a lock-on-after system extending its range to nearly 8 kiloimetres

According to sources, the possibility of extending the range of the HELINA anti-armour missile into a 20 kilometre range strike missile is also being envisaged.

There is a feasibility study underway to integrate the HELINA onto the Rustom-H Medium Altitude Long Endurance (Rustom H-MALE) drone.

Rustom-I is likely to be India's first armed UAV and work is underway to integrate the Helina (which is the air-launched version of the Nag anti-tank missile) with it.

Carriage trials are expected to begin this September. The Rustom-2 which will also carry munitions eventually will see weapon release trials in 2017.

i hope i will be alive by then

Actually the products are acquired by requirements, India doesnt need this product right now.

I will be much more happy if Rustom was tested with X-band SAR pod. Dont start to feel threatened always when u see missiles on an aircraft. Sometimes, a simple recce pod is much more threatening thing.

And tell you what, they tested already the SAR pod from Rustom, but they never reveal in public. Because that is much more secret project.

that missile on the rustom may be on testing purpose, or may be for technology demonstrator.
and it is not correct to say that we don't need any missile armed rustom, UCAV will be very effective in anti-maoist operations.

look you fool, rustom was in flight testing stage much before pakistani UAV was in design stage. so STFU,

We never used air power over civilians in past (except once), and nor we do in future.

We still debating, if transport heli to retaliate back when it come under fire from Moist, and there is no chance we use UCAV and missiles over our own population.
