Look at the Hms Dreadnought, Yamato, Bismarck and other types those are battleships not this Russian corvette.

Nobody builds battleships because they are not worth the money especially we have advanced guided missiles along with air power which will easily destroy a battleship.

Lets not forget modern day submarines with its torpedoes which can easily bring down a battleship. Railguns are being developed so maybe in the future battleships might see a renassiance but I highly doubt it because no country wants to waste their resources on something that can be blown apart with ease and become a easy target.

Modern Technology has all but made big behemoth weapons extinct.

Every ship nowadays actually have more firepower due to technology we have missiles and ballistic missiles along with autocannons and other modern stuff this basically made those huge cannons of battleships become obsolete.

Todays ships can easily pack more firepower than some big *** battleship. There is a reason why we have lighter and medium ships because its not worth building behemoths.

Kirov class is the closest to a battleship but not really a battleship as it is a battle cruiser but it is armed with state of the art weapons.

Battleship era is over unless if USA, Russia and other Great Powers and Regional Powers are willing to build huge *** battleships with modern technology.
