Russian to be reinstated in Chinese schools
BEIJING, November 10 (RIA Novosti)
China is interested in developing Russian language as a school subject, Russia's deputy Education Minister said on Wednesday.

Ivan Lobanov said China plans to send a group of school principals to Russia "to exchange methods of teaching Russian language."

"This is the result of successful negotiations by the Russian Education Ministry and the Russian Embassy in China," Lobanov said.

Russian was one of the main foreign languages taught in Chinese schools during the Soviet era, but was gradually replaced by English and other European languages in the 1980s and 1990s.

No; I had a discussion with my friend upon educational Pakistan standards & respective remedies that we can think of...
My friends were of the view that we can hire teachers from Russia/China/Singapore at our university level which sure was a dumb idea with respect to costs & Pakistan security towards foreigners.
I said that instead of hiring them we make a rule that every student have to learn atleast 3 languages (besides english & Urdu); the third one can be Russian/German/Chinese/Swedish....
In this way our student after 2nd year may move on to non-English countries for further education (either on scholarship/self-finance).
Non-english countries especially China/Russia/Sweden are economic with respect to overseas education. I being an engineer do know the hampering of overseas education dream of students only because of language problems & England/US/Australia/Canada are still biased & relatively expensive too...
