Russian Rosatom can sign building contract for Bangladesh NPP in May

Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom plans to sign the construction contract for the Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant in Bangladesh in May, Valery Limarenko, head of Rosatom's NIAEP-ASE, told reporters. "Negotiations are under way for the third contract, for construction".
"We expect the contract will be signed in the next few months and registered with our Finance Ministry, so a credit line can be opened," Limarenko said.
So far, engineering survey research and design contracts have been signed. These and the construction contract will be worth around $500 million in total, Interfax reports.
Russia will design, build and launch two generating units with VVER reactors with capacity of 1,000 MW each at a site in Ruppur, 160 km from Bangladesh's capital Dhaka, as well as construction of infrastructure.
