Russian public think USA is No.1 enemy – poll — RT Russian politics

The overwhelming majority of Russians think the US is their main enemy, and more than half name China as Russia’s main friend, a recent poll shows.

According to the research conducted by the influential Russian VTSIOM center, the number of Russians who think that USA is their country’s main foe grew from 25 percent in 2008 to 73 percent currently. Ukraine ranked second with 32 percent, compared to 21 percent in 2008.

Other countries Russians perceive as hostile are Germany and European Union in general, 10percent, Great Britain 9 percent, Poland 6 percent, Canada 3 percent and France 3 percent.

Sociologists said that Russian people’s opinion on the subject had become firmer, the share of undecided fell from 44 percent in 2008 to just 15 percent today.

As for friendly countries, 51 percent of Russians see China as their main geopolitical ally, double the 23 percent in 2008. Belarus was second with 32 percent and Kazakhstan third with 20 percent.

India, Argentina and Brazil were also put in the “friends” list. Researchers saw a sharp change in Russians’ attitude to Germany, only 1 percent of those responding see it as Russia’s friend and ally, compared to 17 percent in 2008.

The poll was conducted in late September in 130 cities and villages in 42 Russian regions.

And in the UK we dont really care enough about Russians to call them enemies or friends, they are just fellow people, shows that no matter how much people criticize the US media, the Russians propaganda machines are powerhouses.

CIA : wake-up call. or was this your intention?

The West is very happy with it.

Congratulation btw!

i'm working on this bad attitude from the USA.... not a whole lot of progress yet, but there's hope on the horizon..

That's not a surprise considering current events.

Welcome back the Cold War years.....:bunny:, my childhood.

So Russians see China as the number one geopolitical ally (with Belarus second, and Kazakhstan third).

Excellent, the feeling is mutual.

Lool and so what?? Not like it changes anything.:lazy2:

Yes it does. Russian population being more pro-China means that the Russia-China relationship is durable.

Russians have had suspicions of China so not too much close cooperation. But now things have changed.

This also means Russians will not be choosing any pro-Western liberal leader.
Putin and fellow Russian patriots will rule Russia for a very long time.

More like putin will rule russia for a very longggg time much like Stalin. Its sad that such big/powerful country has fallen prey to one man politics. :disagree: it shouldnt be that way, there should be other strong institutions which limits one person having to much power to do what he wants. Its indeed sad to see that russia has returned to stalin era. :disagree: lets see what happens when putin is nomore there. :bounce:

Putin ruling Russia is the best thing Russia and the world can ask for. Without Putin, weak pro-Western leaders like Yeltsin will ruin Russia by selling its soul to the West. Putin has restored Russian power and restored its independent foreign policy. When Putin is gone, Russians will not want a pro-Western leader, but a guy similar to Putin.

Putin is without a shadow of a doubt the best leader in the world. He is a true patriot that is not controlled by Banksters and the Zionist cabal.

With Putin turning to China, Russia cannot be isolated. Russia will benefit a lot from the Chinese growth especially in terms of market access, direct investment, portfolio investment, funding by Chinese banks and accessing Chinese onshore and offshore capital markets for its companies and banks.

Russia has what China wants....energy and metals.

China and Russia will grow closer and coordinate its policy in things like BRICS, SCO, and other big projects.

Most countries despise Israel, that's almost automatically assumed so no need to include Israel.
