Russian President Putin sends special message to PM Imran Khan

BEIJING - Following a series of high-profile visits in the past two weeks, Moscow and Islamabad have upgraded their bilateral ties just as a new government has come to power in Pakistan.


Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Dedov recently carried a special message from President Putin to newly-elected Prime Minister Imran Khan conveying “wishes to improve relations with Pakistan…(and) foster economic cooperation and people-to-people contact as well.”

In response, Khan also expressed his keen interest in enhancing ties with Russia , according to an article published by China.org.cn on Saturday.

Very few understand this. Russia is no better than the US. She is full of ego and deceit.

Clenching the one around the common interests of Pakistan, Iran and Turkey: so that we can create a great center of attraction. But we are not even aware of this situation.

Russia and China, and even the EU region and the UK, these countries can of course enter into a partnership with us for their interests. However, as we increase our regional power and begin to solve our own problems among us, this partnership with external powers will turn to win-win situation bilaterally.

What for? Such presidential visits only happen if deals worth billions of dollars are to be signed or massive strategic re-alignment are taking shape.

No chance of that happening at the moment while Pakistan is cut off with Russia by Afghanistan.
