Members of the Russian Navy's Special Forces will receive the P-650 submarines for reconnaissance and attack.
These 720-ton submarines will be able to deliver special forces to the shore and pull them out after carrying out their missions.
This unique submarine was designed at the Malakhit Central Marine Equipment Design Office and was named "Super Pirania".
The new Russian submarine will also be able to carry out patrols, destroy individual enemy ships or targets on the coast with its missiles and torpedoes. It will also be able to conduct a secret Wireless survey and provide information on targets for other friendly ships.
The chief designer of the Malakhit office, Viktor Karaviev, told the Izvestia newspaper that the P-650 is a multi-purpose submarine with torpedo tubes that could be used for special forces delivery, as well as a private room with a hatch to welcome them back to the submarine .
The submarine design allows for the installation of different types of cruise missiles, torpedoes and mines.
The submarine is 55 meters long, 6.4 meters wide and dives up to 300 meters deep. The submarine propulsion is based on two diesel generators that run an electric motor with no sound. The submarine has a rangen of 2000 nautical miles, or 3.7 thousand kilometers.
