Russian fleet received head submarine of Project "Yasen"

Head multipurpose nuclear submarine " Severodvinsk " (project 885 "Yasen" ) was incorporated into the Russian Navy on Monday, told RIA Novosti source in the military- industrial complex.
" Acceptance protocol first " Yasen "was signed on December 30 ," Sevmash " ," - said the agency interlocutor. It is planned that by 2020 the Russian Navy will receive at least eight submarines of this type.

" Severodvinsk " (Project 885 ) was laid on the " Sevmash " in 1993, it was lowered to the water in 2010 . The second submarine series , "Kazan" (Project 885M ) , was founded in the summer of 2009, the transfer of the fleet is scheduled for 2015 . The third boat , called "Novosibirsk" , laid in 2013.

Multipurpose nuclear submarine project "Yasen" - 1,5 -shaft submarine with a reduced level of the acoustic field . The project used a mixed system design compromise when light body " covers " only a part of the pressure hull - in the bow - a submarine for noise reduction .

First time in the domestic shipbuilding torpedo tubes are not in front of the ship , and for the central control compartment , allowing to place the antenna in the bow of a new sonar system .

For missile weapons used eight vertical launchers. Armament system includes supersonic cruise missiles such as " Onyx " and " Caliber " , and universal deep homing torpedoes . The submarine has a displacement of 8.6 tysyach/13 , 8000 tons. Maximum depth - 600 meters. Speed - about 16/30 knots. The crew is 90 people ( 32 officers ) . Submarine project "Yasen" able to hit targets on the ground at a distance of almost 1.5 thousand kilometers from the coast .
