Pakistan -india would have been best unbeatable allies.
with china on their side as they are noones enemies and russia "do i have to say anything here"
stupid LOC is messing up everything, and i think in international arena US would love it that way.

We are moving close to EU in economic deals, as they r least threat to world peace.

.
Its Economic war, today only i saw England Backed India for Security Council Seat.
Russia backed India/ england did/ france did/ even china said they will
US might not butwe will tackle it.
once we get in P5 in a decade nothing is stopping us from making LOC international border.
peoples who r living in 1th century claiming lands"both in india and pak" are harming our future in the biggest way.

.
i doubt Pakistan has anything planned as of now to counter that threat.
Pakistan simply chose the best of what was on offering at the time. And Phalcon is superior to the rest.
No, more designs were offered.
E-2C flew into Karachi from Kitty Hawk last summer for trials and also a B737 based Awa&cs was offered by USA.
Erieye was much cheaper and very compatible with the US counterpart so we chose it.
Don't forget that even Chinese Awacs will be flying in Pakistan soon.

Maybe in the future there could be something. Not to forget there is an indigenous AWAC programme going on in India, they will also take flight soon hopefully.
Hope it better than the last one which killed all the project engeneers.
I never understood that...how can you put all your main developpers on board of a test flight???

You need a total reshuffle in your domestic politics to achieve that goal.
Pakistan wants LoC to become IB, India is not cooperating.

All we both are doing is buying Billions (1000's million!!) of dollars worth war machines, while our people are sleeping on the streets, our children are going hungry to bed each day, people on both sides are starving and don't have the basic clothes nor shoes to wear.

Idiots - thats what we are, the Americans, Russians and Chinese are laughing their way to the bank.

.
The war is kept alive only by India. If it would settle the Kashmir issue, we won't have to pursue big weapons.

and if you think that kashmir issue will be solved by talks.then forget it as you can see that we are negociating these matters from last 3 years.

so true mate, so true

though no point in playing the blame game on Kashmir,
best would be to look forward and hope that the issue gets resolved.

It is already discussed in the forum that MKI have advantage over MK/MKK/MK2 due to N011M pulse Doppler passive phased array radar(can function as a 'mini-AWACS') and Israeli Avionics.

China confident Russia will allow fighter jet sale to Pakistan - report

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China is optimistic it will win permission from Moscow to use Russian engines in a new multi-role fighter to be sold to Pakistan, the Financial Times reported, citing a senior official involved in the project.

Re-export of the Kilmov RD-93 engines would be a boost to the backers of the new Xiaolong fighter, which is being jointly developed by Pakistan and China, the newspaper said.

Moscow has for years banned Beijing from re-exporting Russian engines used widely in Chinese military aircraft to Pakistan, a policy driven mainly by Russia's long-term defence ties with India, the newspaper said.

But a turnaround would clear the way for Pakistan to buy at least 150 of the fighters, also known as JF-17 Thunder, in a deal valued at around 2.3 bln usd, the newspaper said.

Citing Li Pei, head of development of the Xiaolong at China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corp (CATIC), the newspaper said Moscow was now expected to approve the sale to Pakistan by the end of 2006 or in January next year.

However, Russia's state arms trading agency, Rosoboronexport, dismissed suggestions that Moscow was set to allow the re-export of engines as 'premature and unfounded,' the newspaper added.

The Xiaolong fighter is intended to offer much of the capability of the F-16 fighter produced by Lockheed Martin of the US, but at a much lower price, the newspaper said.

Let us put it simple. The project is more then a decade old and there are 4 prototypes flying with Russian engines. The plane is purely for Pakistani market. There will be 12 planes in production right now. The first 6 will be delivered to PAF within months (hence the januari release moment of the engines). Do you actually think that Rosboron is credible if one of their in-offical statements they say the opposite then Klimov at Zhuhai?

Rosboron is trying to manipulte India (the 125 MRCA's) but surely cannot hold it cause China is backing Pakistan 200%. They can stop the delivery but they will lose the gamble cause China will copy it and they will face the music in the future...

Putin signs premission to re-export RD-93 to Pakistan

Moscow, Aug 5 : Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed the permission for the re-export of Russian engines RD-93 to Pakistan, Business daily Kommersant reported.

Russian RD-93 engines are installed in Chinese fighter jets JF-17 (also known as FC-1). Pakistan had signed a contract with China for 150 JF-17 fighter jets. China plans to buy about 1,000 RD-93 engines, worth 6-7 billion dollars from Russia, the paper said.

It added that India objected the re-exporting of RD-93 engines from China to Pakistan on the basis of the original Russian contract which banned any re-export of the engines.

However, according to paper, the Russian President’s staff said that the deal with China does not harm Delhi’s interests. ''India buys not just next-generation jets from Russia, but 'four-plus' generation jets,'' it quoted.

JF-17 fighter jets are the third generation, actually outdated machines. Meanwhile, if that deal had failed, Pakistan would have been able to acquire more modern Europe’s Eurofighter Typhoon jets or American F-16 aircrafts.
