Russian Co interested in construction of Karachi-Port Qasim Elevated Expressway
IslamabadA Russian construction company has expressed interest in constructing Karachi-Port Qasim elevated expressway and Hassan Abdal-Mansehra expressway. Alexander Lukin, General Director of Specialized Construction Company of Russia, showed the interest during his meeting with Saleem H. Mandviwalla, Minister of State and Chairman Board of Investment (BoI), here on Thursday. He is on a visit to Pakistan on the invitation of the BoI to discus the available infrastructure projects.
Alexander Lukin offered to do projects on barter basis which Pakistan has never done with any other country. Mandviwalla presented all the available projects which could be worked upon.
He told Lukin that the company should first identify a project and then a joint venture should be created and implemented together. On the occasion he was shown different road and mining projects.
The BoI Chairman further informed the Russian company official that the project should be such which was self-sustaining and generated its own revenue or paid by any donor. He further said that the labour and services were easily available in Pakistan, which would beneficial for the interested companies.
