Russian Air Force receives first Su-34 bomber

Russia's Sukhoi design bureau has delivered the first Su-34 bomber to the Russian Air Force. The delivery took place within the scope of the 2013 state defense order.

On Monday, May 6th, the plane took off and flew to the place of its deployment. In the near future, the Russian Air Force will receive a few more of this aircraft.

"Large government contracts for the supply of Su-34 that were signed with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in 2008 and 2010, created the conditions for stable and long-term activities of the factory and identified the prospects for its long-term development," officials with the company said.

The aircraft produced in 2012 show excellent performance.

Cool, when will the next few planes be delivered? Is there any estimated timeline?

No timeline at present. But as per contract 94 aircrafts should be delivered before the end of this decade.

No specs pictures?

Me too searching for that only. but no pictures available for this production variant. specs are sames about the testing variants delivered last year.

Doesn't 94 within 10-12 years seem a bit low and slow? Why such a long time for just 94 bombers?

It obviously is not a bomber for a country as vast as Russia , hence one could speculate where it would get exported to first

Total contract for Su-34 stands at 124 units, and this only the very minimal amount, their are talks within Russian defense circles that the final order will be for 200+ units.
