Great snapshot of a MiG-31. Looks like it's taking off while covered with snow but with air brakes deployed...? Would it be landing with so much snow on its wings?

Il-38 in Egypt

That was not a good period for us, lol. That was a time where all our equipment was nothing but Russian made, which would've been great if our training didn't resemble a shmackadoodle.
We did much better with all Russian equipment in 1973, especially with the SA-2s, SA-6s (103 Israeli aircraft shot down in 2 weeks time, that puts the Vietnamese SA-2 record to shame - also an Egyptian ADS commander holds the record for the least amount of SAMs per aircraft record) and saggers and the MiG-21s and Su-20. Now the MiG-29M wth the R-73/77 and T220 pod (and that EW/jammer that portrays phony imagery to deceive missiles I forget what it's called) and Kh-35 and the Ka-52 Alligator & Katrans coming for the LHDs, TORM2/BUK2, S-300V even the GE surveillance radars and much more has Egyptian fanboys super excited and it looks like there is much more cooperation with Russia since 1980. According to the latest news, those Su-35s might be flying out of Egyptian bases soon enough, for the VVS not the EAF.

The new squadron of Su-35 entered in service. So far the numbers of Su-35 in service hit 68 fighters

Must be tough playing those instruments in that temperature.
