I think in this time and age the talk of war of such great powers is childish. The old Total War of attrition is long gone, it is much more wise and sensible to avoid it and wear down your enemies the easy way (if you know what I mean)

Yes but how many of those will be flight worthy. Russia has had major problems with maintenance service wide. the December 2008 crash of a MiG-29 in Trans-Baikal territory found that the cause was heavy corrosion in the aircraft’s load-bearing structure. The head of the Air Force’s flight safety program subsequently said that a servicewide inspection of MiGs found that only 30 percent were corrosion free.

These problems, and more, were exposed by Russia’s five-day war with Georgia in August. While Russian forces prevailed, their shortcomings were obvious. Medvedev heard as much firsthand in a visit to the headquarters of the North Caucasus Military District after the fighting was over.
Vehicles routinely broke down on the advance into Georgian territory, the troops told Medvedev. Reactive armor mounted on tanks was defective.

How about 'decrepit' by 2020? When a country has to resort to offering wealthy tourists joy rides in its top-of-the-line fighters to survive, you can only shake your head in sympathy for this has-been. How embarrassing...
