I guess lot of people are bored of eating cabbage soup? Now would be a good time increase sanctions since such actions are clearly biting.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov urged the European Union to lift sanctions against Moscow over the Ukrainian conflict and promised to waive its counter-measures, Interfax news agency reported on Saturday.

Moscow in August banned most Western food imports, worth $9 billion a year, in response to U.S. and European Union sanctions over Russia's role in Ukraine.

"We don't expect anything from our European partners. The only thing we expect is for them to leave the meaningless sanctions spiral and move on to the path of lifting the sanctions and dropping the blacklists. This, in its turn, would allow us to drop our lists," Meshkov was quoted as saying.

"This will be conducive for us to waive counter-measures," he added.

Earlier this week, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said lower oil prices and Western financial sanctions will cost Russia around $130 billion-$140 billion a year, equivalent to around 7 percent of its economy.

Meshkov put the losses from sanctions for the EU at $50 billion next year, adding that trade turnover in some products between Russia and Europe has declined by double digit percentages.

So what? We are in a Cold War. This one will last for thousands of years.

Also the price of oil is right now at 66,15$/barrel.
Russia will collapse soon..
I wonder if the real Russians (not oligarch) are happy with that situation...

So what if oil is 1 dollar a barrel? Putin is the president of Russia. Only the president has authority. Electronic money means nothing. Only bombs and bullets can do the talking in today's jungle world.

When bombs and bullets cost money, as do soldiers, maintenance and procurement, it is money, not bombs or bullets that has the true power. Also, you keep repeating a statement that says oil companies will make money even if oil is 1 dollar per barrel... What? When your production costs are higher then the price you can sell a product for you lose money. What oil company has production costs less then 1 dollar? Stop saying this, it's wrong!

Putin said : ''Our Turkish partners refused to sacrifice their interests for political ambitions of others"

Putin praised Turkey's independent decision-making, and said Russia could increase its trade in foodstuffs with the country. Putin also proposed new colloboration opportunities in industry, specifically in the aerospace sector.

We have already agreed with Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan that we can bring our mutual trade up to $100 billion (in 2013, it amounted to $32.7 billion).

Thank you Europe

Yeah you should, why not? Exports from Finland to Russia already crashed 50% and Russia was the biggest importer of Finnish goods. Good job

Trade with Russia is less than 10% of our exports and Finland already has started to trade with other countries. Shops near Russian border have seen increase in sales because Russians are buying a lot of dairy products and then smuggling everything back to Russia.

Apparently many Russians (probably middle class) aren't satisfied with quality of Russian food.

Bombs and bullets don't cost anything in Russia. Nationalization, baby, nationalization. How did you think America was able to afford building hundreds of thousands of fighter planes and bomber planes during WW2?

Why do you keep quoting costs of bombs and bullets, your a fantastist dreaming about some new war that will NEVER happen, the reality is that food/living COSTS money. If your populations unhappy I cant see how bullets not costing will help them, maybe to shut them up it will I suppose so your right there but do you really grasp the crap you come out with?

Oh I dont earn much money, im eating basic food and I can barely afford to live but its OK, Furher Putin can get free weapons, I wonder who will make them, oh shit me for zero money..

IPhone Prices in Russia Tempting Tourists as Ruble Slides - Bloomberg
Opposite Smuggling
Re:Store, an official Apple reseller in Russia, said gray-market imports have been competing for sales at its stores in St. Petersburg, where people could travel just 100 kilometers (62 miles) across the Finnish border and buy anything ranging from clothes to gadgets.

“Now it probably makes sense to smuggle suitcases of iPhones in the opposite direction,” said Lyudmila Semushina, a spokeswoman for re:Store.

The ruble has fallen amid U.S. and European sanctions against Russia over President Vladimir Putin’s alleged role in the Ukraine conflict and a drop in the price of oil. The currency was down 1.7 percent at 46.63 to the dollar and fell 2 percent to 57.93 to the euro as of 3:11 p.m. in Moscow.

Those coming to Russia to shop include entrepreneurs from ex-Soviet republics, who used to travel to other European countries or Hong Kong to buy iPhones and then resell them in their own countries, according to Eldar Murtazin, an analyst at Mobile Research Group in Moscow.
