I though UAE was interested in SU35S which is better than F-35?

The Russians were looking for a partner for a new gen light fighter for the export market. Looks like they got a partner. Dunno why they are saying it is a variant of the Mig-29, it is actually a new design by Mig.

Russia and the United Arab Emirates launched a project to develop a lightweight fifth-generation fighter. On this, as reported by TASS, said Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov at the 13th international exhibition of arms IDEX-2017, opened in Abu Dhabi.

Proposed jet has similarities with F22 and AMCA outer shape to some degree. I wonder if India could had partnered Russia in that, however what comes to my mind that Russia would had tried to become mejor partner leaving India in sub designing. Hopefully this jet will excel in the tasks it is intended to be used for. God speed.
