Plans for Revival of HEC, Ranchi
A Revival cum Modernization Plan was prepared for HEC by M/s MECON envisaging a comprehensive overhaul of HEC’s plants and facilities. The Plan has been further augmented and additional schemes have been included for a more comprehensive overhaul of the Plants and systems of HEC. The total cost of modernization after including contingencies, IDC and pre-operating expenses adds up to Rs. 956.48 crore.
HEC has informed that it has signed MOU with CINITMASH of Russia for technology for Nuclear and Defence items and with Rosatom, the State Atomic Energy Corporation. Moscow, for components and spares for Nuclear Power Plant to be supplied by Rosatom under joint cooperation.
This information was given by Minister of State In the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Shri Babul Supriyo in reply to a written question in the Rajya Sabha today.
