A Russian satellite that will conduct biological experiments in space and its launch rocket have been delivered to the Baikonur space center, officials said.

As part of Russia's Federal Space Program, the Bion-M spacecraft will conduct fundamental and applied research in space biology, physiology and biotechnology while in orbit, the Roscosmos space agency reported Monday.

The satellite, scheduled to launch in later April from the space center in Kazakhstan, will be equipped with 24 sets of research instruments installed both inside and outside the spacecraft, RIA Novosti reported.

The research program includes experiments with rodents to study reactions to microgravity and the impact of radiation, officials said.

A little bit difficult to imagine!!

A little bit difficult to imagine!!

Very much possible. Indian Space capsule recovery experiment (SRE-1) carried a payload for growing bio materials in micro gravity. SRE-2 will be carrying more such experiments like, Biological effects of Microgravity: A genomic and proteomics approach and effect of microgravity on the photosynthetic ability of cynobacteria.

Russian Sat will be conducting more complex biological experiments on a bigger scale.

ITS the same story copied everywhere! No where does it state HOW?! :what:

have not looked into but can say such missions happned for long time and it is not experiment in sense you are thinking. no robotic tests or manipulate controls but rather some organism and preset conditions likely sent with monitoring devices to see reaction and development of its state in time, or test graviatational force independently against other variable. short term and very specific experiments, think the satellite has intentionally small lifespan for purpose.
