The original lunar rock went "missing"

Very convenient.
Very convenient,indeed.
Maybe they faked the 1969 landing to win the space race with USSR because Apollo 11 flag was supposedly blasted by rocket fumes.:disagree:

No humans can survive pass the Van Allen belt on the way to the moon.
The Apollo missions marked the first event where humans traveled through the Van Allen belts, which was one of several radiation hazards known by mission planners.[29] The astronauts had low exposure in the Van Allen belts due to the short period of time spent flying through them.[30]The command module's inner structure was an aluminum "sandwich" consisting of a welded aluminium inner skin, a thermally bonded honeycomb core, and a thin aluminium "face sheet". The steel honeycomb core and outer face sheets were thermally bonded to the inner skin.

In fact, the astronauts' overall exposure was dominated by solar particles once outside Earth's magnetic field. The total radiation received by the astronauts varied from mission to mission but was measured to be between 0.16 and 1.14 rads (1.6 and 11.4 mGy), much less than the standard of 5 rem (50 mSv) per year set by the United States Atomic Energy Commission for people who work with radioactivity.[29]

You tell me this can bring someone back earth.

Let alone Earth, I believe this can take Modi ji to Mars.

:D

Given that technology has improved a lot since US landed on moon, why not other space faring nations send an unmanned system to moon and find out the truth. Other than associated cost i dont see any other thing that is preventing them from doing so.

What are you talking about????

Samples of rock were sent to over 135 countries.
Did EVERYBODY lose their samples?? Just because you think China was incompetent and lost their samples the US gave them doesn't mean everybody did.

Pakistan has theirs

Taiwan has theirs

Didn't US bring back Lunar Samples??
Testing them would reveal everything.

Yes, about 380kg and we handed out samples to lots of countries.

Some are even displayed in various museums.

Air resistance is negligible in energy consumption compared to escaping gravity.

When I did my physics, we never take into account of air resistant, to simplify the problem.

The difference is, you did physics in elementary school, we are doing Physics in PhD level. There should be few differences in complexity in a numerical problems.

Only if propelled by Mao Zedong's liquified gas.

Looks like cheap propaganda still find takers.

Russia never sent man to the moon.Thus,BUTTHURT..

by the way @Lux de Veritas

you should study Apolo 13 mission..Nasa got much more attention than just sending Man to the moon and back, they brought their astronauts alive from a catastrophic accident.

It is the US herself is feeding the conspiracy theory.

All the docs are either tightly sealed or "missing" at a time when it shall be declassified and open to the public for pop science use.

But it's a probility at the the high time of cold war, staging such a hoax could benefit the position against Soviet Union.

Or silence the critic by going back. They have talked about going back but they need to do a lot of "prep" work. But if you already went there 50 years ago with 60s tech, how much longer do you need to prepare for another moon mission?

What does going back to the moon proof?

Do bear in mind that the Russian is doubting American successfully land on the moon during the 60s, not US have never land on the moon at all, even if US did going back to the moon, would they still use the Apollo module to do it?

Going into space via a space shuttle is not like you go on a plane, you do know zero gravity alone is hazard and to completely train for a zero g mission would takes month if not years, even a small thing like Near Zero Gravity HALO jump would require at least 130 days of training to be proficient to perform a HALO jump, how much man hour you suppose would need to prep man and equipment for a moon mission??

By the way, it is undeniable that Apollo Mission did result to someone land on the moon, the lunar module took some photo of the 6 lunar landing site and found that beside Apollo 11 Landing Site, all 5 other flag is still standing.

So tell me, if American did not land on the moon during Apollo mission (The only mission that successfully put man on the moon), who plant 5 American flags on the surface of the moon? 嫦娥?

Exactly costs associated is enormous. Btw with US its been there done that scenario.

Sending a moon mission will provide them with no new scientific data which they can't get and analyze via rovers. So why send it?

They are looking beyond Moon to Mars and Jupiter.

*Take off that tin foil hat and think rationally my friend

Well, people buy in conspiracy theory usually simply ignore simple fact and go with their own theory and hold by casting enough stone, someone must have taken the bait and develop the theory.

Fact is, N1 program has failed twice before US launch Apollo 11, and the last one that fail during 1969 have set the Russian back 2 years as the program coordinator Korolev died in 1966. So whether or not Apollo 11 make it to the moon does not affect the Russian, as the N1 actually keep developing and failed in 1971 and 1972, the program was scraped.

They are looking beyond Moon to Mars and Jupiter.
If they cannot travel to & fro to moon quite often , i bet they cannot go to mars/jupiter. They need effectively master and engineer technology by trying to setup base on moon. Then they can travel to mars or jupiter. At the best they have scratched the surface of moon and came back saying no oil found so not a useful base:-).

Recent russian transport shuttle disaster proved that space technology is still not yet mastered to be highly reliable.
