MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia is ready to discuss hypersonic missiles and other arms control issues with the United States as part of wider discussions about strategic stability, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.

So in other words the Russians know the US, once again, will bury them in capability and capacity.

Things are going to look a lot different in 5 years when the Army’s LRHW, Navy’s Prompt Global Strike Weapon, and Air Forces AGM-183 ARRW have entered service and the US is producing them at scale.

let's not forget the Russian breaches the INF treaty first. so why the heck they wanted talks now??

Because the Russians know they are about to get overrun by US hypersonic capability and capacity. This is an attempt by Russia to get out ahead of the US and constrain that capability.

The US wanted out of the INF treaty.
because Russia breaches the INF treaty first.
The INF treay stated that it "banned all of the two nations' land-based ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and missile launchers with ranges of 500–1,000 kilometers (310–620 mi) (short medium-range) and 1,000–5,500 km (620–3,420 mi) (intermediate-range)".

while Russia breaches it by fielding this SSC-8 long range GLCM's

That's retarded, the US is already behind Russian and Chinese hypersonic capability. In 5 years those systems will have just entered service (that's a big if) while Russia and China would have already deployed and been producing Hypersonics for half a decade already.

The US is only slightly behind in deployment, and not behind at all technologically. In fact, the US is ahead. The US just last month successfully tested a 4,000km hypersonic weapon. Neither Russia or China have done so. By mid decade, the US will have a conventional triad of hypersonic strike capabilities. AGM-183 ARRW is set for IOC in 2022, LRHW in 2023, and Prompt Global Strike by 2025. Then they will be mass produced into the thousands. In the next several years, hypersonic weapons will be deployed into the Pacific theater.

Def Sec Esper:

"I'm very confident that in the next few years, we'll be deploying hypersonic weapons as the commanders need them throughout the theater, but in the Indo-Pacific theater in particular," he said in response to a question from Sen. Deb Fischer, a Nebraska Republican. "We are doing very innovative work, and I would tell you, it's more innovative than what you would see coming out of Russia or China — I can assure you that."

What else do you expect he to say to the public, especially under the leadership of dotard?

Of cause Russia may want to talk to US given their small economy size, but China?good luck.

And unlike you, we don't show off stuffs we may or may not have in the next 20 years on a PPT/CGs (or in your particular case, even without PPT and CGs:rofl:), we just show thing we already deployed, actually in our culture, it is generally believed bragging things you plan to do is a very reliable sign of weakness and lack of confidence:rofl:

Laugh all you want, but the US is set to surpass Chinese hypersonic capabilities in the next several years, in both offensive and defensive sectors. We'll be the first nation with a conventional triad of hypersonic strike capabilities, and hypersonic defense space sensor network and relevant interceptors.

We're a couple years behind China in deployment because our hypersonic solutions are more advanced than yours. It's why you've not seen China conduct conventional hypersonic strike tests at the range the US has.

Literally all bluster. Show and tell first, then we'll believe your propaganda.

You talk more and more like India day by day, so basically you are just a fancy version of India like I figured out:rofl:

China is testing an intercontinental-range hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV), according to written testimony submitted to the US Senate Armed Services Committee on 13 February 2020 by US Air Force General Terrence J O’Shaughnessy, commander of US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) and of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).
Although Gen O’Shaughnessy did not identify any specific weapon programme – saying only that the weapon “is designed to fly at high speeds and low altitudes, thus “complicating” the US ability to provide “precise warning” – he was likely referring to a weapon different from the DF-17 HGV-carrying ballistic missile that was exhibited at China’s National Day Parade on 1st October 2019 in Beijing.

If this turns out to be true, the Chinese are way way more ahead of the US.
