Seems like the Russian's aren't enforcing a no-fly zone; or are unable to in certain parts. TB-2's are picking some convoys off. If I were Russia I'd take out the remaining airbases with FOAB's.

What are the chances, hopefully that they just have a hard time maintaining the aircraft assigned to this operation as well? I just came from an F-35 article with spare parts problem and maintenance.

That is definitely possible as well. However with Russia's large AF, I doubt they're short of serviceable aircraft.

It's more of Russia hesitating total war because Ukrainians are basically Russians. But it may escalate to that, as we are starting to see.

While casualties may be higher - the US military is a finely tuned fighting machine training consistently for the war in Europe. Brilliant operational concepts such as Checkmate and retrospective strategies along with cohesion among political and military mindset kept the plan in motion. Finally, technology that was ahead of its time in the F-117 and EW meant the Iraqis were outclassed completely.

The Russians have shown that they are force with generally subpar training with decent weapons but no idea on execution of plans made at the strategic level. Apples and Oranges

Street fighting will incur high casaulties, weapon superiority becomes irrelevant, unless you bomb the whole city into oblivion.

So the number of dead on all sides is 500 Russians, 2700 Ukrainian soldiers plus 250 or so civilians.
It's not an issue of precision, the Russians are using far less firepower than the Americans because they want to minimize civilian casualties, the Americans usually just bomb everything and kill far more civilians and they count alot of them as soldiers, because once a civilian is blown to bits and burned to a cinder you won't be able to tell whether he was a fighter or a civilian so you can count him any way you want.
