Russia's major market is Europe. And Pakistan is in talks with Iran to import Iranian gas. So why would Russia want to route their pipes through a hostile and unstable territory? And to what market?

russians were our best friends...we let them down by denying Mig-35 fighter jets..now we pay for it....i am pretty sure they will offer you something unique......anyways my personal opinion is stronger economic ties between Pakistan and russia are in the interest of the region especially india...poverty is india's biggest enemy and the trade between Pakistan and russia will indirectly raise our GDP

Russia would like to take away some of Iran's markets on the African continent. They are competitors in the same exports.
