That is not my analysis and you should not expect that They confess to their defeat in Iran-140 project.
Iran-140 waste many resources and money however if they supply new engines they can rebuild all of the project again.(The bad news is that Ukraine is not reliable and stable country)

An-140 is shit... it killed dozens, remember!

It was the engines that were the cause of the problems,their hot and high performance was just not very good,re-engining with p+w engines would be the way to go especially now there are no sanctions.The problem was that the aircraft was ordered literally straight off the drawing board,iran should have acquired a couple of testbeds first and these would have quickly revealed the problem,however irans options were limited as were the ukraines so it was a deal of convenience for both sides.Personally I think its a terrible waste of a lot of money,resources and lives that went into this program only to see it all scrapped or even worse replaced with another aircraft that is virtually no different in specification,one wonders how much of this is could be purely political as this was one of Ahmadinejads projects after all.
