Russia, China approve business initiatives worth $50bn during Putin visit

It is a major failure that Russia despite being a global power cannot raise its currency to the status of global reserve and has to depend on its former communist ally China for loans and funding...80 years ago before communist took over Kremlin Russia was one of the wealthiest countries in the world..its pathetic how socialism can destroy a country permanently...there is no recovery from Socialism..

In fact, the Socialist Russia is always stronger than the Capitalist Russia.

Thanked to the pro-West traitors, the mighty USSR was destroyed from within, something that the West couldn't do it from the external pressure.

Just ask to @vostok

The Hyperloop tube is not a vacuum. It actually pulls air from the front and shoots it out the back/sides to keep it from hiring the wall.

Yes, it is.

Stop this nonsense rehotric..when a country is exporting junk and everyone is consuming the whole country without liability..the sense of entitlement would soon ensure everything turns to a civilized looting fest...people who destroyed Russia..were Russians..

The Czarist Russia was always backward, while today's Russia got its military legacy from the USSR, not from the Czarist Russia.

The USSR has contributed more than any other regime in the Russian history.

China got this idea earlier, and good luck with Boeing.

lol now you are switching stories and claiming they also had the air cushion idea too.

...and don't say the tube idea is yours since it has been around in sci-fi for about 100 years.

It was stalin who raised the industrial standard of Russia. W/o Stalin. Czar Russia is no way to stop the onslaught of Nazis. It was the hordes of T-34 tanks and mass of arty that destroy Nazis. There is no pure military strategic genius from Russia but brilliant industrialization that help Russian triumph.

Witnessed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, China Radio International (CRI) signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in the field of new media with Russia Today (RT), an international news agency in Russia.

CRI Director-General Wang Gengnian and RT First Deputy Editor-in-Chief Oleg Osipov signed the agreement on Saturday.

As part of the new agreement, the two sides will work together to develop a bilingual convergence media mobile app in both Chinese and Russian, so that the high-quality resources from both sides can be integrated to create an "omnimedia product."

Moreover, the two sides will promote the joint cooperation of their brands and hold exchanges, such as round table discussions, to extend the media reach of China and Russia.

It is not the first time for the two countries' media sectors to form partnerships. A previous cooperation deal between CRI and RT was signed in 2014.

The latest cooperation agreement will aim to develop new media products that meet the demands of the mass audience, incorporating technological resources and innovation of both sides.

RT-CRI cooperation.

Wasn't this what we were asking for?

Yes. Russian Empire never had that power and influence in the world that Soviet Union had.
But Russia has been great before the Soviet Union - ask Napoleon. And she will be great after the Soviet Union. It is inside the Russian people, and does not depend on the title of the ruler or economic system.

Going Hyperloop: Russia’s Part of New Silk Road to be High-Speed Railway

Los Angeles-based company Hyperloop One plans to build a high-speed cargo railway across Russia, to deliver goods from China to Europe within the New Silk Road initiative, company’s co-founder and CEO Shervin Pishevar said.

Russia Seeks to Attract Chinese Funds for High-Speed Hyperloop
Earlier, Hyperloop One, the Russian group of companies Summa, and the Moscow government signed a memorandum to create the concept of the use of Hyperloop technology in Moscow.
According to Pishevar, if the railway is built the delivery time from China to Europe via Russia would decrease to just one day.

The Silk Road Economic Belt is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Eurasia. It is expected to transform transportation infrastructure across the continent, including several transit corridors from China to Europe.

The company said the cost of the project is yet to be assessed.

On June 21, it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Pishevar during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Russian president pledged to support the idea.

The issue was not about financial support since the project was an investment.

Transforming Eurasia: Expectations and Real Prospects of China’s New Silk Road
On June 16, Russian Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov said that the Russian government proposed the Primorye-2 transportation corridor as the pilot stage for Hyperloop. According to the minister, the initiative may cost up to 30-40 billion rubles ($470-625 million).
In addition, Russia’s railway monopoly Russian Railways (RZD) is also interested in adopting the technology.

Initially, the Hyperloop concept was proposed by prominent US businessman and engineer Elon Musk and subsequently made publicly available. The concept envisages the use of capsules transported via reduced-pressure tubes, which would make it possible to reach speeds of up to 1,200 kmh.
On May 12, Hyperloop One conducted the first test of a high-speed transport propulsion system.

That's their choice, in the end, Russia is free to choose what they think the optimum for them.

Although I do not think there is any realistic potential for this to move forward, we better concentrate on what we can achieve further, rather than what we have missed.

this is just testing around what this technology is about and if it really works, why shouldnt china want to know if there is a better and cheaper technology out there? It will be tested in moscow and very close at the chinese border at Primorye near vladivostock.

However HSR is current reality and russia is building a route from moscow to kazan which will be connected with china

i am pretty sure by the time the hyperloop technology becomes really usable and if it does work for the cheaper price these americans are promising, the chinese will have their own hyperloop technology which will be cheaper and less effected by sanctions

I think Putin wants to leapfrog the old HSR tech and bring Russia into the 21st century. China has too much money invested in HSR infrastructure (as the US has with its air structure) to want to switch to Hyperloop. Russia sees itself as the prime candidate to build a Hyperloop infrastructure from the start without any blowback about previous money wasted on air and HSR infrastructure.

What is going on on the gorund in reality is that China and Russia is putting together pieces for tthe eventual Beijing-Moscow HSR. Moscow to Kazan is one of the pieces.

The one with the Hyperloop is simply a mind exercise and, if Russia ever considers it, that would be through a joint venture with China.

I do not think Russia would entrust billion-dollar project to a country that has been sanctioning itself, which is, in fact, an act of war.

Putin is completely sold on Hyperloop tech
