Can ordinary people solve Rubik's cube on their own - without any guidance or even slightest of hint?

This query is linked to the pain of geniuses being boring. I know a guy who cracked this Rubik's puzzle with no coaching or help whatsoever at the age of just 15 but his company (presence) is mundane.

Ordinary people can't google their problems correctly; let alone find a solution to a Rubik's cube.

With practice they might figure out how to do it but they still need to calculate possible combinations on the fly.

abhey chay hai kiya? It has algorithm, even a 5 y.o. can solve it. All you have to do is remember the 5 lines of algo, if its 3x3, if its 4x4 may be 7. That is first time given to you WITH the frigging cube. Unless you buy the cheapest one on the market.

These are not geniuses practice only.

He is not a genius, practice only.

And he is definitely not a genius, a ch++ may be, a rich ch++ definitely but not a genius.

Next you are going to bring up that you got beat by a 6 y.o. in chess, he might be a genius. No you . tard, children have higher learning capacity, only a few who show promise in childhood get to become grandmaster, rest of losers are doing the normal routine jobs like us.

Lazlo polgar said it "Geniuses are made not born" and proved the point by raising her daughters that way. Even your child can become a genius, just feed him properly, educate him properly, promote him to do stuff which he has high affinity of and then its all luck. If you throw him is school and give him ipad and shiat, he would be exactly like those un-employable retarded phd shiats(with 0 skills) that indian universities keep churning out.

Very old joke. Hence irritating.

It is more interesting to take off the stickers, paste them all aligned, and then scramble it all again. Now ask a genius to solve it. :D

The guy I mentioned had no algorithm. He did it all by himself!

It is pure Maths, it would be extremely difficult to solve Rubik's cube without knowing the Algorithm. It takes about 27-29 turns to solve the Rubik's cube if you know the Algorithm.

Prove it, send me his brain scan while he was doing it, while he was under the supervision of doctors. Come on man don't be stupid. And some time while randomly shuffling it gets solved by itself. Every one has heard of rubiks cube, a slight hint (like make a T), solve corners first, makes a huge difference. It took the designer of rubiks cube couple of months, to solve it and that included back-tracking, learning on the way and creating algorithms.

Secondly, how is solving a rubiks cube even a measure of one's genius-ness? Did YOU make it a benchmark? I frigging consider zardari and nawaz genius in corruption, hell even Malik Riaz. Should, I expect a rubik cube solver to be a genius cook, genius cricketer, genius chess player, genius mathematician? No, f.. No.. Like come on man, use some common sense, it was may be one-off thing and stars aligned and he got lucky, or may be he is just genius at solving rubiks cube with out any algo(which I doubt). Because it's a pattern based puzzle.
