Taliban have emerged as single most serious threat which Pakistan faces Today. So fare Pakistan has Sacrificed more then 2000 of its regular soldiers and Thousands more Police, FC and other men belonging to other security agencies in Fight against terror.
After flogging controversy in Swat first time People of Pakistan are Uniteing against Taliban Menace. This consensus is not due to any shift in Pakistani thinking in favor of America but because first time people have seen the real face of Pakistani Taliban who them selves have revealed their motives.. The statements of Sufi Muhammad and Beheading campaign of Taliban have turned their sympathizers away from them.
Their are two new phenomena’s which have appeared in recent days
1. Ahlesunnah Brelvi Sect has come up open against Talibani Islam rejecting Taliban Sharia and coming up united to Face Talibani Propaganda
2. MQM type outfits trying to exploit situation and trying to Abet any action against Pashtuns in cover of Talibanization in Sind especially in Karachi.
Brelvi Unity against Talibanization can be use full against Fighting Taliban as 80 % of Ahle Sunnah Belong to Brelvi Sect in Pakistan. But on other side this can trigger Brelvi- Deobandi sectarian war. As Taliban belong to Deobandi Sect, Brelvi offensive can be seen as anti Deobandi offensive by Followers of Deobandi Sects.. This offense will be a fatal blow to Unity of Muslims in Pakistan. Pakistan has seen Civil war between Shia and Deobandi sects in 1990's. Pakistani people know the effects of such conflict. Taliban and their sympathizers have proved then selves to be intolerant towards other Muslim sects. Back in 90's Sipah Sahaba, a Deobandi anti Shia party had a Slogan "SHIA KAFIR SUNNI MUSHRIQ (Shias are Kafirs and Sunnis (Brelvies) are Mushriqs.).The amount of brutality Taliban have shown in Kurram against Shia and Neo Taliban Lashker Islam in Khyber against Ansar ul Islam (Sunni Brelvi Militia) or destructions of Mazaars (Tombs of Sunni Saints) in Swat and Bunair or in Adam Khel projects any civil war between Sunni Brelvi sect and Sunni Deobandi Sect will be very bloody.
On other Hand MQM which was responsible for terrorist acts during 90's and has emerged as a political party is trying to create situation to Target Pashtuns in Sindh especially in Karachi. Due to MQM's Propaganda campaign Pashtuns are feeling in secure. Over generalization by them has made every Pashtun as Talibs which is resulting in Division between residents of Karachi. Islamic Parties, Pashtuns are gathering with Land and Drug mafia having roots in Tribal areas to protect them selves from MQM. Government must stop MQM from its aggressive propaganda if it wants Pashtuns not to fall in hands of Taliban.
STRATEGY TO DEAL WITH TALIBS
I think three steps should be taken to curb Taliban Influence at this moment when Public first time is turning against Talibs
1. Come out of US camp. Pakistani people hate Talibs but majority hate US more. There is a consensus in people that US never remained a loyal friend. It used Pakistan and then dumped it. Every Action or campaign should give impression that its for Pakistan not to Please America. Pakistan is heading towards anti US revolution. Elite should divert this and save The system by leaving US camp. Pakistani Elite must show national Honor and Self Respect and Character and Refuse every American non sense demand.
2. Unfortunately their are few Religious parties who are Playing Double game. These Parties initially Opposed Pakistan but got power during Afghan Jihad. According to Reliable Sources Followers of these Parties are fighting against state in Bajor and Malakand. In one such Case a Taliban Commander Contested Elections under Flag of One Such Islamic Political Party. State Institutions should Take Notice of Such Parties. These Parties are now opposing the Army Operations in FATA and Against Taliban Militants. State Institutions and Government should take strong action against them and expose them to Public.
3. Use of Force by Forces should take care of innocent civilians. Collateral Damage only Helps Taliban. Army should Plan and execute operations while taking care of civilians. Remember People of Tribal Areas are Pakistanis and Deserve care from Government and State institutions.
4. Political and Economic activity should proceed immediately after end of Operation. Government and State should spend generously to help local Population resettling.
5. Its time to propagate the sacrifices of People of NWFP who are showing Exceptional Generosity in looking after Muhajereen. Such conditions help to bring unity. Pakistan is a Great Nation we can promote patriotism in nation by mobilizing whole Pakistan to help our brethren in need.
