Retention Holsters

Okay we have established that there is a healthy collection of gun sport enthusiast on PDF. A quick question then to the community, do you use a retention holster with your pistol and if so which one are you currently using and what is your experience of using them?

I am presently keeping a level 3 retention holster from Uncle Mike, that cost me 5000PKR.

I know this is an old thread, but I use a Milt Sparks Summer Special II for my 1911. It's an inside-the-waistband holster. Real nice, cost me $85-$90 USD

Here is a pic of it and how it is mounted. There is no strap to hold the gun. And a good strong belt is needed too, the one I'm using in the pic is flimsy and weak.

As for my .44 magnum ruger redhawk, I have an Uncle Mikes holster with a strap that keeps the gun secure. I prefer keeping the strap unbuttoned, but sometimes it comes in use.
