Here is a picture of the top dog of indian missiles the Agni-5 hitching a ride behind a volvo truck.

Another view of the same vehicle reveals the scale of the vehicle. This is a road train with too much gaps between wheels and not much ground clearance .

There is no crew accomodation or a command post on this vehicle,so there must be a convoy of vehicles traveling with this already over sized "TEL" . Problem with any of the support vehicles will restrict the mobility of the whole system.
Plus this setup does not seem to be all terrain off road capable.

On the other hand all Pakistani missiles re mounted on purpose built all terrain vehicles which can go off road.

These are long range missiles which seldom require travelling but canisterised. Missile which require travelling and their TEL's are below are far far versatile than anything you have in your present inventory.

Very well noted, mobility is the main issue and too heavy to go offroad.

it is not required to go offload. that missile is road mobile, that is all it matters. a 5500km ranger missile need not to be off road. it not a tactical missile, but an ICBM.

Really? This too is a mock up?

Btw do you have a picture of actual TEL?
that is the canister ... the actual missile is inside that canister.

I don't know, what kind of mobility is required for a missile which has a range in excess 5000km, and 8000km with a smaller payload.
They don't have to be transported to the border areas during a war.It can after all hit a target 3000km inside enemy territory if fired from 2000km inside our territory.

Valid thread guys...

India had a vast rail network. ..In fact one of the biggest in the world...A rail mounted tel would be an ideal solution.

may be they have rail mounted missiles too.. it is much easy to built rail mounted missile system than making a road mobile missile.

Except all the rail lines are busy and we have very few railway lines in strategical areas. Moreover I dunno if shipping and transporting through rail will be secretive enough

There are many lines that divert from the usual main lines...I have seen lines that run into defense PSUs, many are purely for goods..there's lines that run only one kind of cargo...for e.g. cement or wood or ore. Also many lines are rarely used.

The tels used for missile tests are mostly rail mounted if you notice.
