What's new

Respected Gen. Musharraf defended Pakistan in all fronts.

Mr.Mushrraf saved us from foreign media:woot:
or he gave birth to private foreign funded/invested channels-!
------------------------------------
I don't think so that Mr.Mushrraf was complete disaster-I believe that he tried to settle up things of as much as he can with sincerity.Since, the whole scenario was born after Mr.Zia came into power. The plan was old-it blow us up after 9/11 drama..if there would be PPP,PML-N..then situation would be much worse. He handled somethings cleverly, that is why foreign media accused him for 'double crossing' United States.
I'm sure he's (was) patriotic; but his policies have proved to be slow poison.
slow poison?
plz eloborate!

how is MQM a beneficiory of musharraf, apart from getting an environment of operation free karachi and having enough working space to develop karachi which attracted many investment and development? which proved to be very beneficial for the city and the country infact?

so do you think that the childish policies of nawaz shareef and PPP who had a very crude sense of constitutional upholding from the supreme court attack to the operation night jackal to no media freedom, to kill thousands of MQM workers just because MQM was becoming a challenge to them and to force altaf hussain and others on exile was a good policy? to military courtst bore any fruit? do you think that the politics of the nineties solved any pakistani problems or it infact enhanced them?

do you think that musharraf who after one decade brought reforms in the form of free media, local government system, to strengthening organisations like NHA and NADRA, to completing the parliamentary term of five years for the first time in the history of pakistan was a bad work?

no constitution is bigger than the country itself, the country is not made for the constitution, the constitution is made for the country.

1. MQM was the only independent party that backed Musharraf to the full extent. PML-Q being a collection of (mostly) tainted politicians corralled by ISI, does not count. You can not even begin to list the reasons for MQM's support. Doing that would shoot your case. The mere fact that you jump to his defense says a lot - intelligent people can understand the silly reasons for your doing so.

2. Issue is Musharraf, not NS or PPP or Supreme Court or media. You CAN NOT defend him, and that is why you are trying to raise miscellaneous issues. Typical side slithering behavior from a political partisan of an extremist tint - what else to expect?

3. MQM was never a challenge to anyone. It was and still is a nuisance. While there were some good people in it, I thought that it would become a much better party if & when Altaf were gone. But now I am not so hopeful.

4. The good of Musharraf years is totally eclipsed by his misdeeds. What else to expect from the person who caused misadventure of Kargil?

5. If a country can not exist within a constitutional frame-work, then it better not exist at all since it would for ever be a cause for oppression, instability, and injustice.

lol you have a very weak knowledge of history, especially if you knew about the 90s politics in depth, you would not have said that, musharrraf began a new age in pakistan, you accept it or not

yes nawaz shareef is a related issue because he was a pat boy of the establishment himself

musharraf misdeed was numerious but kargil never was, youi should rather blame how zia ul haq lost us siachen, kargil was becoming a pride for pakistan until mr nawaz spilled all state secrets to his indians friends

and when mush took over, many mullahs, chief justice, even imran khan supported him, even PPP celebrated when mush took over, and MQM was the party which infact opposed the take over, infact MQM never had good relations with musharraf till there was restoration of democracy

You are seriously deluded. Your ethnicity-centered thinking is wagging you left and right.

It is immaterial who & what supported Musharraf back then. Even I was not sorry to see NS go away. But the subsequent events clearly showed what had happened and where we had gone wrong.

Musharraf derailed democracy and violated his oath to protect our constitution only to save his skin in aftermath of Kargil. A relative of mine was the actual planner of Kargil and the first person to suggest the military plan to Bhutto in mid-70s. BB was also there. That is why she rejected this plan outright when Musharraf pitched it to her in early '90s.

I have said what I wanted to say. I do not need to say more. Rant on alone.

lol what democracy, do you even have any knowledge about what happened in the 90s? two times nawaz was dismissed without completing his term, same thing happened with benazir, both nawaz and benazir didn't stand one another, nawaz even planned operation night jackal together with establishment to over throw benazir, nawaz attacked the supreme court, where was the democracy back then?

musharraf himself was selected because nawaz thought that mush would never do any coup and instead of choosing the COAS on merit, he chose based on his instincts

saving country is more important then saving democracy, what nawaz did deserved the take over and he is repeating all the mistakes again

All of them defended Pakistan in international media, and none of them killed Bugti by aerial bombardment, no one gave military bases to foreign powers working against Pakistan's interest, no one attacked and killed hundreds of innocent hostages in LAL mosque to use the incident as a cheap proof of being liberal, anti-Islamist western puppet, no one allowed drone attacks on its own citizens, no one toppled an elected government. and no one handed thousands of Pakistani's over to Americans to be kept like animals in Guantanamo bay camps.

Which politician have ever defended Pakistan in foreign media?
