Satellite phones with data ALREADY exist. Watch the video. Iridium has over a million users. As for bandwidth SpaceX has already announced plans to launch over 20,000 satellites into LEO.

Even when you are on a plane and use the internet it is bouncing things off a satellite...how do you think it works over the ocean?
