Rekodiq project to contribute massively to economic uplift of Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: Participants of a meeting on Rekodiq project here on Tuesday said that once litigation of the project concludes, it would contribute massively to the economic uplift of Balochistan, especially in creating a large number of job opportunities.
The meeting of Laws review Committee was held here under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar which evaluated different draft laws as well as current status of international litigation regarding the Rekodiq Project against Government of Balochistan as well as the Federal Government.

The meeting also agreed to make all out efforts for speedy settlement of the arbitration issues.

Matters relating to promulgation of ordinance relating to GIDC and other legislations in pipeline were also discussed.

Different aspects of the arbitration came under discussion.

Participants of the meeting expressed the view that once litigation concludes, the project would contribute massively to the economic uplift of the Balochistan.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for P&NR, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Federal Minister for S&T, Zahid Hamid, Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Khwaja Zaheer Ahmed, Attorney General of Pakistan, Salman Aslam Butt and Nadeem Hassan Asif, Secretary Establishment.
