ISLAMABAD: Khayber Pakhtoonkhawa Governor Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi says necessary reforms have been introduced in FATA to bring in good governance and development in the area.

Talking to Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Friday, he said through austerity measures and oversight of the development funds, the results are much better. He informed that the government has initiated mega developmental projects in education, healthcare and skill development sectors of FATA to bring the people in economic mainstream.

He briefed the Finance Minister on budgetary requirements of the FATA areas and requested special compensation packages for Kurram and Khyber Agencies.

The Finance Minister said that the government will not make any kind of discrimination in development and all provinces and tribal areas would be given funds in accordance with their share.

He said the democratic government attaches the highest priority to the socio-economic development of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, FATA because both are facing major brunt of terrorism.

The Finance Minister assured the Governor that the budgetary requirements of the tribal areas will be met by the Federal Government and necessary funds will be provided for FATA development

He said the government would develop communication links including roads network and open more commercial points in these areas for the commercialization of indigenous resources in FATA.

PMLN should try to implement the real reforms, make FATA people equal pakistanis and change the old aged colonial laws which made FATA less pakistani than others
