An aggressor USAF F-16C shot-down(mock) in Red flag Exercise.
The person who released the pic has purposefully blurred the image to hide the details of the HUD/HMS.

Btw.. thats not a lock on.. its a pipper on the F-16 during a deflection shot and was held there for three seconds to register a kill.. and that was during cope India 06.
Where the TACDE pilots who are artists in A2A went up against a regular USAF F-16 unit.
the results were very different when a regular Su-30MKI unit went to red flag.

. . . .
Its from Cope India 2005 not Red Flag

2006, That was the first time the IAF fielded the MKI in an exersize.
Cope India 2005 was F-15's.. 2006 saw an F-16 unit.

. . . .
it is well known that the su-30mki is superior to an f-16c without jhmcs+aim-9x in close combat......... good to see indian pilots trying out against potent jets such as f-16......

Yes in that infamous video, the Colnel points out it was the IAF's inexperinced guys who were making the mistakes that allowed the USAF birds to register kills and he concedded the MKI was more advanced and more capable than even the USAFs "legacy" F-15s and F-16s. Addtionally he mentioned that the number of MKIs killed may have been to a large extent down to the fact that the IAF at that time was not in the Datalink that all "blue" forces were meaning they MKIs were going around with a blurry picture of the fight and it meant that early on the MKI pilots had held off engaginf for fear of hitting freindlies.

Exactly....Even the Colnel Acknowledged Early on in exercise Indian Fighter pilot would confirm the Friendly or foe status even after in position to lock on leading to bad Number of hits/kill ratio ....

Later on Indian fighter pilot said its better to kill a friendly then getting yourself blown ...they had the upper hand then .....:smokin:

He also Acknowledged Indian pilot were Disciplined and very binding to rules ...:enjoy:

Yup.

Actually from a joint exercise one can never gauge who is better and who isnt. When India went to the US, France and the US were both on their NATO data link and used that, to great effect. India was just on training mode, and therefore had to actually verbally confirm everytime, to verify if the blip on the screen was friendly or hostile. So the F15s and the F18s could score many more skills. Added to that India sent a lot of its inexperienced pilots to the US.

The reverse happened in Cope India, back here. The Us flew with inexperienced pilots, and they were outnumbered. India flew their best pilots in that exercise so they could score more kills.

All in all, I would say the MKI is a better plane than both the F18 and the F15. Though the American planes might have an advantage in the radar area. Since I believe they use AESA and we use PESA.

And when it comes to overall experience, I would have to give it to the US. Their pilots are far more trained than the IAF. Because they've fought a lot more wars.

+The IAF got 17 kills in one mission and whatever the Colonel had to say he didnt forget to mention the professionalism of the IAF.

We cant stop people to live in the glory of the past and jump over small video clips from Youtube before analysing it completely.Look for reasons to put us down and when the actual comparison comes bring in the N word as soon as possible..which proves who really has the superiority in the region.
