Technically speaking Sunil Gavaskar has never even picked an Indian batsmen to groom. He even failed to groom his son properly. Speaking of which India always had quality batsmen in dressing room who always took care of youngsters. When Sachin was young, he had Srikkant, Azhar to help him out. And after a few years Sachin was helping out all other new youngsters in the team on the technical batting side. His batting technique is almost pure and so head balanced. You have to see an Allan Donald interview on Sachin's batting stance and technique.

Add to that we had Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman. All were classic in their own sense and style. And why do they need Gavaskar's help in grooming in the first place?

Wasim Akram met Irfan one day on the nets and coincidentally he took an Hatrick in the very next test match. Irfan on his own strength was on his peak during that time. His was a little advice. However Akram neither groomed an Indian bowler nor BCCI asked for his help. But India would be great to have his help to coach new bowlers if chance arises.

Wow... I don't agree with Indian posters that Razzak had intentions to help.. Cmon... Even a half age kid will understand he is asking for a freakin job from bcci... He even selected the place of training. As an all rounder he is one the best ever..no doubt.. but this is begging.

I was being cheeky, I do admit that... However, if we open up Pakistan players to work with ours - then let us get Akram, Waqar, Saeed, Squalin, Mushy.. Even Miandad would work... There are much much better legendary players from Pakistan than this kinda players, who were great once and then became tuk tuk players

Razzaq a tuk tuk player lol. I grew up watching him play and i remember each and every one of his innings. He used to be my favorite. God those straight horizontal sixes!!!!

Yes indeed, easily amongst the top five all-rounders representing Pakistan. In my view, would easily slot fourth in the pecking order after the legends like Imran, Intikhab and Mushtaq Mohammed.

He was the epitome of a 360° player much before de Villiers's advent with shots ranging from third man to the square-leg. Sadly, they are yet to find a replacement of his class.

Sadly i dont see anyone of his calibre coming in anytime soon.

I recall Kohli gifted Afridi a bat and there are other random incidents too.......I also think Indian players have to be careful of their actions least they be branded traitors; Pakistanis are generally free to do what we want and we are neither as critical nor as judgmental as a minority of Indians are.

I don't think anyone will brand our cricketers as traitors for being friendly with yours. India didn't complain when Virat Kohli endorsed to let the world about your umpire's charity venture, or when the inimitable MSD was seen playing with Sarfaraz's kid post our defeat in CT '17.

Our cricketers from both countries have shown mutual respect and friendliness on and off the field, it is time some of it rubs on the fans too. I see all kinds of nonsense being posted on the Ind vs Eng thread.
