Rawalpindi woman sentenced to death in blasphemy case

Hopefully the cyber crime division spend some time skimming this website and track the avatars primarily operating from UK.

Everything, including religion, is about opinions. Opinions should be vented, listened to, argued out, distilled, then accepted or rejected. Opinions should never be, and can never be oppressed. They have to be defeated in logical, rational argument. It is the only way any idea or philosophy can win.
If the idea isn't defeated intellectually then it will always resurface.
Muslims unfortunately have not learned this simple lesson.

Forgotten*, deliberately. Those 1400 years ago, and for more than a thousand years after, used to invite open, public debate. Who, btw, also did not have blasphemy laws.

Today's Muslman, especially the one residing within Pakistan, is just compensating for his own insecurities, lack of understanding of the religion, and absence of belief. Otherwise, he has no problem committing every other conceivable crime against God and his religion 5 times every day.

And then some person who is not atheist gets to know about this dirty group and uses law of the land to take action against it. Why are you whining?

The 'law of the land' is unjust and needs to be changed. A pretty straight forward concept. Analogous to why you "whine" against the quota system and the 18th amendment every chance you get.

Noor muqaddam slaughter at the hands of liberal atheist Zahir Jafar is also not a matter of life or death for the state. Zahir Jafer can be released tomorrow and Pakistan Would Continue to survive. However it is responsibility of the state to punish Zahir Jafer. Same is the case with this issue

Red herring, and a very unintelligent one at that.

The sad contradiction is that the Muslims who are right thinking and understand the true spirit and purpose of Islam are the ones that are considered to be atheist, heretic or kaffir.
To question any extreme or regressive interpretation of Islam today is to invite accusation of blasphemy or worse.

As was foretold 1400 years ago.

The people you are arguing with can't see the wood because of the trees and they've thrown the baby out with the bathwater.

You are banging your head against a brick wall and you're flogging a dead horse.

Bulley Shah RA, says the following about the bits I have boldened:
Gal samajh laiye te raula ki
Ay Ram Rahim Tey Moula ki.

If the message of tolerance, forgiveness, love and inclusion brought to us by the revered Saints and Sufis of Islam have been forgotten and are being ignored then no one is going to listen to the likes of you, or me for that matter.
Bhai days of Bulleh shah RA are no more- habibis won
Now to keep peace in society, we NEED blasphemy laws (of course death sentence is BS) even though this is probably anti-Islam in nature but from statecraft/secular perspective this is needed

RAWALPINDI: A local court in Rawalpindi has awarded death sentence to a woman after her conviction in promoting blasphemous content on social media, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

A woman was sentenced to death by an additional district and session judge after she was found guilty of promoting blasphemous content on social media. The court also pronounced a 20-year jail term and an Rs150,000 fine to the accused woman.

The verdict was given by Rawalpindi’s additional district and session judge Adnan Mushtaq against Aniqa Ateeq in a blasphemy case. Aniqa has been given a 20-year jail term under the sections of the cybercrime act and other regulations.

The accused woman had been facing charges of promoting blasphemous content against Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him on social media.

A case had been lodged against Aniqa Ateeq with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle Rawalpindi chapter over the complaint of Hasnat Farooq in 2020. The case was registered under the section of blasphemy, contempt of religion and anti-cybercrime act.

If she would be in india her wish to eat beef kebab could lead her death by any COW rakshak hindus gang in the middle if new dehli chowk

Nobody should use the thing called brain in their heads lest they be accused of blasphemy in Pakistan. This thing is only worth using abroad where TLP and its ilk in institutions of Pakistan cannot reach you. The folks who strip, torture, and burn on a moment's notice cannot be reasoned with.

Well without knowing the full story, I'd say that escalated quickly on her verdict and the response from people... If the case against her filed by FIA than they might be monitoring her posts or where ever she was posting such content, secondly if they filed the case they better prove it in the court and not just local but there are more higher courts such as High Court and Supreme Court, this decision is not the final verdict as people are quick to Insult the system/country. Compare that to the law in some EU countries regarding denying Holocausts ? you will be fined/get jail time etc, but Blasphemy is different in a sense that in cases a religious figure or text is involved which is followed by a larger demographic. I would say that let the FIA investigate the case further, if she has done it as a mistake, or just out of curiosity or asking question than there is no need to draw your swords, just warn her with regards to the law and fine her (maybe) but if she is consistent with it and deliberately provoking people than a stricter punishment must be given, and by stricter I did not mean execution or mob justice, Larger fines, jail time etc because someone has to draw the line on it because if there is no law against it then there are many many people who are Educated Jahil's, and they will under the guise of debating or having a different opinion will insult Prophet, Islam or Quran.

Rawalpindi court sentences woman to death for sending blasphemous content on WhatsApp
AFP | TAHIR NASEER
A Muslim woman was sentenced to death by a Rawalpindi court on Wednesday after being convicted of sending blasphemous content via WhatsApp.

The 26-year-old woman was arrested in May 2020 and charged with posting “blasphemous material” as her WhatsApp status, according to a summary issued by a sessions court. When a friend urged her to change it, she instead forwarded the material to him, it said.

The court ordered that the woman be “hanged by her neck till she is dead” along with a 20-year jail sentence and a fine of Rs200,000.

Up to 80 people are known to be jailed in Pakistan on blasphemy charges — half of whom face life in prison or the death penalty — according to the US Commission on International Religious Freedom.

While many cases involve Muslims accusing fellow Muslims, rights activists have warned that religious minorities — particularly Christians — are often caught in the crossfire, with blasphemy charges used to settle personal scores.

In December, a Sri Lankan factory manager working in Sialkot was beaten to death and set ablaze by a mob after being accused of blasphemy.

If blasphemy was a thing, all people of Macca would have been killed by Muslims with no exceptions whatsoever. The people of Taif would have been put on pikes and no "Kafir" would have been allowed to exist inside muslim controlled areas. Alas !

I already said that there can be debate about the kind of punishment that can be given in such cases. If not death penalty then prison sentence can be given However blasphemy law is here to stay. There is literally nothing you can do about it

Unlike Quota system that is implemented in only one province tp serve a corrupt and lazy elite of one particular ethnic group blasphemy law and its existence is supported by muslims of Pakistan who apparently make 97% of the country

You guys have no choice but to accept it
Red herring, and a very unintelligent one at that.

Well someone said how someone's blasphemy is a life and death for the state. I said noor muqaddam murder is also not a matter of life and death for the state

It is a perfect analogy. Much better than your quota system one
Another self goal by inbred republic of mullahistan. At this point India and others don't even need to do anything to harm Pakistan's image.

This post made it to the front page of reddit and i can't say I disagree with the comments disparaging this hellhole

Indians made a mass murderer as their PM and are still the favorites of the west (gorai)

Aap log poori zindagi gooron k samain apnai image ko hi rootai rehye ga. Khush woh phir bhi nahi hoon gai aap sai

Leftist extremism

Can't listen to an opposing view. Consider themselves as all wise and want to impose their views on the overwhelming majority of this country

Pee lai ga yeh bhi pani. Masla nahi hai. Bas nas na kaat lai
