Ratan Tata Was Humiliated by Ford, Reveals Colleague but took revenge

Although the investment made by TATA saved the luxury brand, it was British creative spirit that made JLR what it is today. TATA has reaped the profits in selling the brand in China and Europe. There is nothing like the Range Rover in terms of luxury and capability.

When you talk about Ford---you are talking about Ford USA. Ford had no real interest in the Jaguar and Land Rover---. They bought it to see if it would work for them----it did not---they dumped it.

Jaguar and land Rover may have a name in Britain and india---but in the U S---they are worthless vehicles---with very poor reliability and resale value----.

For americans---all jaguars were under powered---over priced cars----unreliable cars----. They never took of---and same thing with Land Rover----.

As Ford was not into high end luxury car market----it waved it good by---. Tata got the opportunity---so he snagged it----.

Remember---car sales 101----no car is a piece of sh-it-----. There is an ar-se made for every seat. The seat for the jaguar and LR was made for Tata---he bought em----.

No dear. Jaguars are as coveted as any premium brand car in US.My own company president owns a top of the shelf Jaguar.Its an another matter that I being an Indian can not buy this Indian owned car.

Jag's F Type Coupe R is awesome.

This generation of jags really set the company in line.

Right now, I would definitely prefer a BMW, but I think the next generation coming up, Jag really mean business.


I love the new Jaguar XF , I love what the Indians have done to the design


Design is European, but TATA has indeed managed it well.

Range Rover/Land Rover is great. But for its price, the interiors are very cheap quality. Check Mercedes and BMW and even Acura (Honda) and you will know what I mean.

It was the perfect deal for Mr. Tata----. Ford wanted to off load it--- Mr. Tata wanted a foothold with a brand name and he snags a name like Jag and LR---so where is not the positive outlook here.

Both the parties are happy---. Indians can walk with pride now that an indian owns Jag and LR----and britishers are happy that at least the americans are out of Jag and LR---.

For Ford---these brands were pocket change---a sore issue and no recognition---for Mr. Tata---a world of a difference---I mean to say---just t own a brand name like that----.

So---from where did you get the idea of " no positive outlook on Indians "!

The difference being Tata took JLR from a 4950 Million Pound turnover to a 21870 Million pound turnover in 7 year...

Because that was his pride and joy---his baby----for Ford---it meant nothing----. Just another division.
