Here is my take of it.....

Thing is ..... this rat closely resembles a fringe toad lizard in the Mohave desert....

Not to mention some areas of the mars they show resembles very closely to the Mojave desert... IF that is really a rat then that Rover is in the Mojave desert fooling the entire planet ....

Def. not a lizard, the legs of a reptile are articulated different than that of a rodent! Not sure what that is...

No. these are real images from curiosity on mars, there was presence of water on mars a very long time ago, rock formation can occur anywhere.
