Rare Clip :Laying of the Kings Colors at IMA post India becoming a Republic

.
Some traditions that both Indian and Pakistani armies have retained.

It is utterly shameful !

. .
What traditions ?

.. and what is shameful ?

Shameful is the tradition, whereby our forces whose job is to protect us and serve us take pride and show of their lineage with the ones who occupied us.

Those colours should have been abolished, and burnt in my opinion.

The fact they are still preserved is shameful.

.
Have the forces ever desisted from ' protecting & serving " ?

As far as India is concerned, the IA follows the tradition of non interference in Political affairs which is a very good thing.

The colours have been laid to rest. Militarily the Flag / color has immense relevance. Even now the Flag of Rani Jhansi is displayed in certain places. You cannot discard your past.

Its like the silly act of destroying the building where Jinnah lived in Baluchistan . What has it achieved ?

The system of administration ( formation of Districts) - SP Police, Distt magistrates, the revenue system, railways, Canals , Post & Telegraphs & so many more are also legacies of the Brit Era. Should we burn them too ?

BTW, why do we wear trousers - that too is a Western legacy. should we wear only Salwar, Lungis, Dhotis, Kurta Pajaymas only.

We need to change with time & imbibe whats good.

Yes of course; the Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Gateway of India, Chetwoode Hall at the IMA etc etc etc............. should have all been razed to the ground as also the Staff College at Quetta !!

Long live Destruction! It is the most Constructive act that there can be!

During and pre WW2 there was no India and no Pakistan and of course not any nationalism. Those soldiers served for the sake of their regiment, local ruler, family tradition, religious tradition, financial reasons or WHAT EVER but not because of any national feelings.

Correct. they were employed by and loyal to the british.
Thus they played their part AGAINST the freedom movement at time.

However, Once they were inducted in respective countries, ( India OR Pakistan), took their oath and pledged loyalty, then things should change.
