Raped by brother, girl delivered baby in India

PALANPUR: In a shocking case of incest, a 17-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by her elder brother, delivered a baby girl in a village of Patan district.
The girl’s 19-year-old brother, who raped her for nine months in Sariyad village, was booked for the crime on Wednesday. Though the girl’s health is fine, the newborn’s condition is critical and she has been put on life-support system.

Police sub-inspector, Vagdod police station, N R Patel said the crime came to light when the girl delivered the baby in Dharpur Hospital on Monday. Doctors got suspicious when the girl refused to divulge the name of baby’s father. They informed the Vagdod police that started investigating the matter.

“We have recorded the girl’s statement, wherein she alleged that her elder brother had been raping her for the last nine months. He sexually assaulted her in the night when everyone was asleep. He used to gag her mouth and then rape her. She has two brothers,” Patel said. Her parents and brothers work as farm labourers.

The girl’s brother is, however, on the run.

Police have booked her brother under Section 376 rape and sections of Prevention of Sexual Offences Against Children (POCSO) would be invoked after the girl’s age is confirmed.

Resident medical officer, Dharpur Medical College and Hospital, Dr Hitesh Gosai said, “We have given police the the blood samples for DNA test of the newborn.”

Meanwhile, the girl’s mother told media persons that she didn’t realize that her daughter was pregnant and assumed that she had a tumour in the abdomen. “It was only on Monday when she delivered the baby we got to know everything,” she said.

She also said that her son had committed a ‘criminal blunder’, but urged police not to arrest him as they are from a poor and illiterate family.

Indian woman, daughter jumps off moving train as 10 men tried to gang rape them.


NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old woman along with her 15-year-old daughter jumped off a moving train after a group of men attempted to rape the girl on board Howrah-Jodhpur Express late Saturday night, reported Hindustan Times.

The mother and daughter who were travelling from Kolkata to Delhi in an unreserved coach, were forced to jump off the train when the men tried to drag the girl into the toilet. The incident happened when the train was between Chandari and Kanpur railway stations.

The two fainted after jumping off the train. They remained unconscious for nearly two hours. After regaining consciousness, the injured woman and her daughter walked to the Chandari railway station where people called an ambulance and rushed them to the Lala Lajpat Rai hospital.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) came to know about the incident late on Sunday.

“We are in the process of registering an FIR on the complaint,” said Ram Mohan Rai, SHO, GRP Kanpur.

The woman’s husband works in a private firm in Delhi and the daughter is a student of Class 9 in Kolkata.

The woman told the police that the group of nearly 10-15 men started taunting and teasing her daughter soon after the train left Howrah.

They also tried to grope the girl following which the mother rushed to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) constables escorting the train when it stopped at two stations. She claimed she complained twice about the constant harassment, first when the train was near Allahabad, and again at Allahabad.

“The constables accompanied me to the compartment and nabbed three of them. They even slapped them and took them away,” she told HT at the hospital. “However, the men came back within 30 minutes, perhaps after bribing cops.”

To her horror, they got more aggressive after the train left Allahabad and kept threatening them that they would drug the girl and sell her off. Around 10pm, four to five men pounced on the girl when she was going towards the toilet.

Hearing her scream, the mother rushed towards them and fought with them before finally jumping off the train with her daughter.

“In the struggle, my daughter’s clothes were torn. We had to jump off as we had no choice,” she said.

The police said her husband has been informed and he was on his way to Kanpur. The woman said they would submit a formal complaint only after his arrival.

Despite the woman’s allegations that the RPF constables took bribes to let off the offenders, the North Central Railway which runs the Howrah-Jodhpur Express distanced itself from the incident.

“The incident took place near Howrah, which is in not under our jurisdiction. When she reported the matter at Rasoolabad near Chandari station, the RPF constables provided her all the assistance and got them admitted to hospital,” said Gaurav Bansal, North Central Railway’s chief PRO.

This incident is definitely sad and the boy should be punished..but it's not surprising that the members commenting here didn't lose a second to say Hindus / Indians are disgusting..in short generalising.

If these incidents are the yardsticks toeqsure the goodness of a community whether it's Hindus or Muslims or a country whether India or Pakistan, then let's do something.. let's open a thread where we can pick up news articles from each country and let's discuss who is how disgusting.

Someone mentioned if Hindus are pointed a mistake, they point back bla bla bla... I feel sorry for these poor minds, how on Earth you people can decide which religion is good and bad on these things.. does it mean a Muslim.man f***ing a goat in let's say in some African country makes Muslims overall disgusting ? Mud slinging on another religion just opens doors for other religions to give it back to you, and then you cry about people using bad words about Islam or Mulsims. Gro up, there is a big world who are equally as humans if they are not Muslims.

I agree, just shows that the rivalry has descended into the gutter. Previous generations, even soldiers had fierce rivalry, but they were gentlemen.

New generation on both sides. Not so much.
