Paul told the conservative news site Rare, which appears to have first reported his plans, that he will "be forcing votes on any arm sales to Pakistan" until the country releases Shakil Afridi, who aided the CIA's plot to kill Osama bin Laden, and Asia Bibi, a Christian woman convicted of blasphemy.

The AECA lays out an expedited process for the Senate to consider Paul's resolution, including limiting total debate to 10 hours. The Kentucky senator, however, could still face procedural hurdles before he gets a final vote.

Don't get me wrong, I would like that Pakistan get those F16, but aren't the whole episode no less than a comedy show?....US wants Pakistan to have F16...Pakistan wants those F16 badly...while India playing the spoilsport and the whole tug of war is going on since last three months with no sight to end.

Nobody is forcing the US govt to host him or continue providing military AID (which is our money -- reimbursement for WOT ops and for using Pakistani ports,highway for logistics etc support to US & NATO troops).

These are free F16 paid by the US itself...so who cares...end of the day..they will come..despite all odds!

Yet another wishful story to block the sale though seems our neighbors are more interested in lobbying against Pakistan rather own deal being stalled since long like Rafale, MMRCA etc. Should have concentrated about IAF needs. Already had enough of these threads yet ended with another confirmation from US that the deal will go thorough. Nothing much to see but proving efforts for the favours paid in cash by India yet will end as wasted.

They are forgetting the implications of another supplier stepping in and giving away much more potent jets...Russian and French are good option..that would tip the balance of power in the region!
