How may VIPs will give up their protocol and escort 4x4s to be sent to affected areas to for rescue and maintenance (for electricity ) operations ? Nil i suppose. People need food, medicines, grocery etc.

Another requirement will be water suction pumps in high demand. Then life jackets and water proof clothing/boots. One would expect the Civil administration to have all this equipment in large numbers already (considering size of karachi city and sindh). Small sized Rubber Dinghy boats would have helped too.

Pakistan and the nation have focused excessively for anti-terror catastrophe that preparedness or anticipation of other natural disasters have taken a back seat. Most of this thread is about accusing previous/current Governments and PPP, whats done is done, people's lives are at stake and there are chances of more rain. Mud slinging can wait - rescue efforts cannot.

oh the irony i was trying to convince my wife to sell our DHA house and shift to Malir Cantt as it would be more secure and much better organized as it's active officers area as well, by the way i don't think sindh govt can do CRAP inside Malir Cantt even if they wanted too

I still prefer Malir cantt over DHA.. all is well except power issue.

yeh malir cantt is better than DHA it looks more structured planned and is greener but i heard wahan bhi paani short hai
