It states that a particular sniper rifle has a 3 kilometer range,I don't think that's accurate, is it?

They may be talking about AMRs being used against the Army. I am sure primarily the opposition is Dragunov equipped.

So the claim of a 3 km range is an exaggeration then?

Well he did mention Range Master and Dragunov, but i am not sure they have a range of 3 kms, though M 107 has a range of 1.8 kms and the 12.7 mm (.50 Cal) Rangemaster also boast a similar range.

Taliban using British made sniper rifle range master but which Caliber 7.62x51 NATO (.308 Win) or 8.6x71 (.338 Lapua Magnum).
From where they are getting them.

i am not sure but if we go by the range as claimed on the clip then it has to be 12.7mm.

And where are they getting from? Hmmm you know the answer i guess :)

Perhaps we may begin by seeking an answer as to the the rise or decline in the prices of products from Darra

Darra can produce EVERYTHING, but mostly in shape, but when it comes to functionality and performance it lags centuries behind, especially highly engineered weapons like the ones under discussion.

I was referring to the ammo for the weapon, not necessarily the weapon itself.

“Punter”, “Rogue American” indeed! Get a life! .50-cal sniper rifles are available to anybody determined to buy them. A single-shot can be ginned up by any good smith from a machinegun barrell.

I guess, they are making in dara

the ammo is like 'free' there but again when you are actually hammering (used in actual sense) the slugs into the cartridges to complete a bullet, it is then that i doubt their accuracy and performance. The sniper that our military use and the standard assualt rifle (G3) that we use, have the same caliber but there is a hell lot of difference between the ammo of these two weapons. Reason: a G3 bullet takes its grains in weight and the sniper bullet is filled with 'counted' grains or to say each bullet has the least variation within a specific lot, this is to ensure the consistency and performance, which is not found in standard rifle ammo. i dont think they have that 'counting machine' with them at Darra

Well there may be a possibility rather they must be using weapons from Darra but when someone comes on the media and says that the weapon is Russian or Brit made then he must have double checked it. Now it doesn't necessarily means that these countries are providing them these weapons as these are available ion the black market. Moreover you can get a weapon of all sorts at Darra, you give them a pic of some gun (may it be the Martian laser gun) and they are going to replicate it with ease, but this wouldn't mean that the gun actually came from Mars, UNLESS it ACTUALLY did come from Mars and someone (with creditability ofcourse) claims that it really did fall from Mars as the Officer in the clip said.

But ko doubt that Darra is their perennial weapon supply!

I was suggesting that any information regarding the prices paid for raw material and any information regarding prices over time, of weapons and ammo, may allow us to make informed inferences.
